December is going to be a bit of a weird reading month for me. I have a huge series of posts set to go up which means I’ve basically been reading a lot of Christmas themed books and not much else. I do, however, have a few ARCs which need reading in the next few weeks so hopefully, I can find time for them under the huge pile of Christmas books I am currently drowning in.
Just as an FYI I am reusing some of the same books from past TBR posts because surprise surprise I didn’t read them. Please tell me I’m not the only one who fails miserably at this every month?
Influence by Sara Shepard and Lilia Buckingham

I was kindly sent an ARC of this book and I’m quite excited to read it. I actually have never read any of Sara Shepard’s books, but I did really love Pretty Little Liars (until I gave up around season six).
Keep your eyes peeled for a review of this near the end of December!
Goodreads synopsis: “After a video she makes goes viral, everyone knows Delilah Rollins. And now that she’s in LA, Delilah’s standing on the edge of something incredible. Everything is going to change. She has no idea how much.
Jasmine Walters-Diaz grew up in the spotlight. A child star turned media darling, the posts of her in her classic Lulu C. rainbow skirt practically break the Internet. But if the world knew who Jasmine really was, her perfect life? Cancelled.
Fiona Jacobs is so funny–the kind of girl for whom a crowd parts–no wonder she’s always smiling! But on the inside? The girl’s a hot mess. And when someone comes out of the shadows with a secret from her past, it’s one that won’t just embarrass Fiona: it will ruin her.
Who wouldn’t want to be Scarlet Leigh? Just look at her Instagram. Scarlet isn’t just styled to perfection: she is perfection. Scarlet has a gorgeous, famous boyfriend named Jack and there’s a whole fanbase about their ship. To everyone watching online, their lives seem perfect . . . but are they really? The sun is hot in California . . . and someone’s going to get burned.”
Vortex Visions (Vortex Chronicles #1) By Elise Kova

I was supposed to read Vortex Visions this month however ARC’s got in the way and I wanted to review Elise’s latest book. That review went up yesterday you can read it here.
I mentioned this book in my last post about which Kindle Unlimited titles I will be reading over the next months and honestly I really need more Elise Kova in my life (I have spoken with her in the past about the Air Awakens series and she is so lovely).
The last book in this series was recently released, which is why I have waited to start this series. I’m highly anticipating that I will devour this entire series just like I did with Air Awakens.
Goodreads synopsis: “A desperate princess, a magical traveller, and a watch that binds them together with the fate of a dying world.
Vi Solaris is the heir to an Empire she’s barely seen. Her parents sacrificed a life with her to quell a rebellion and secure peace with a political alliance. Now, three years past when her wardship should’ve ended, Vi will do anything to be reunited with her family.
The Empire is faltering beneath the burden of political infighting and a deadly plague. Yet, Vi can’t help but wonder if her inability to control her magic is the true reason her parents haven’t brought her home. Suspicion becomes reality when she unleashes powers she’s not supposed to have.
Powers that might well cost her the throne.
As Vi fights to get her magic under control, a mysterious stranger appears from across the world. He holds the keys to unlocking her full potential, but the knowledge has an unspeakable price — some truths, once seen, cannot be ignored.
All eyes are on her and Vi must make the hardest choice of her life: Play by the rules and claim her throne. Or, break them and save the world.”
The Dream Thieves (The Raven Boys #2) by Maggie Stiefvater

I am determined to read this book. I wanted to read it way back in July but I am an awful person who never sticks to their TBR.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series; however, it did take a really long time for me to read it, something which is unusual for me as I am a very quick reader. However, with that being said I am looking forward to reading The Dream Thieves as I need a little more Gansey in my life.
Goodreads synopsis: “Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…”
If you have any Chrismas themed book recommendations then please send them my way and also let me know what you plan to read in December!
