I have been so busy with ARC’s and Christmas themed books that my January to be read has not even crossed my mind. I have three ARCs to read next month. Which I will obviously do a full review of, so I don’t want to talk about them here.
Instead, I am going to talk about some of the Kindle unlimited books which I will attempt to read next month. Yes please notice I have used the word attempt. I should hopefully have a lot of time to read in January. However, I am feeling like I’m in a bit of a slump at the moment. All I want to do is play sims.
I do apologise that this is a very short post, I am so swamped with ARC reviews at the moment. However, I would hate to miss a day as I feel like I have got a really good posting schedule going now.
THE MORTAL BLADE (MAGELANDS ETERNAL SIEGE, #1) BY CHRISTOPHER MITCHELL

I talked about this book a while back on one of my ‘kindle unlimited to be read’ post. Honestly, I have thought about it since. There’s a dragon in this book so of course, I’m going to read it.
I am also planning on doing another ‘best of kindle unlimited’ posts soon so I really need to get reading more books from the service. So here’s to many Kindle unlimited books in my January to be read.
Goodreads synopsis: “A city ruled by Gods, a mortal champion, a misfit girl and a disobedient dragon…
Stolen from his home, Corthie Holdfast has arrived in the City of the Eternal Siege as a new Champion.
He must fight alongside the Blades, whose lives are dedicated to the defence of the City against the hordes of monstrous Greenhides; or die at the hands of the Gods who rule.
Maddie Jackdaw, a young Blade, faces her last chance. Thrown out of every unit defending the City, either she takes on a new role, or she will be sent to the Rats, a company of misfits given the perilous tasks beyond the Great Walls.
Her new role, if she takes it, will bring her face to face with her deepest fears, for beneath the walls, in a secret and hidden lair, lies a dragon, imprisoned and waiting…”
QUEEN OF DARK AND LIGHT (WHIMS OF FAE #6) BY NISSA LEDER

The last in the Whims of Fae series has been on my to be read for a while. I was quite disappointed with the last book. I am really hoping that this book will live up to the expectation set by the first two books.
With just 194 pages on Kindle, I am interested to see how such a short book will bring the series to a close. Hopefully, it won’t leave me ranting like the last book did (sorry about that).
Goodreads synopsis: “After the events of the last battle, how will Scarlett find a way to win the war? And in the midst of all the darkness, will anyone find the key to her heart?”
THE DREAM THIEVES (THE RAVEN BOYS #2) BY MAGGIE STIEFVATER

I really feel bad for this book at this point. This is the third time I am including it on a to be read and honestly I really need to read this.
I have heard so many great things about this series and I really do want to read it. It’s just finding the time to sit and read a physical book that I find hard. I love reading on my kindle because I can do it at night. I’m not one of those people who likes reading in electric light.
Let’s see if I can actually get this read next month. I feel like a need a forfeit if not.
Goodreads synopsis: “Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…”
Let me know what’s on your January to be read!
