With so many book adaptations coming out right now got me thinking about which books I would like to see adapted. I would no doubt watch an adaptation of pretty much any book I’ve read, but the books I’ve spoken about below are some of the top ones that I think would make very good adaptations.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo 

Now I know what you’re thinking, Shadow and Bone exists and it has Six of Crows in it. But no, that is not enough for me. Six of Crows should 100% be its own show and honestly, I would have liked to see it adapted rather than Shadow and Bone. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved season one of Shadow and Bone, but let’s be honest the Six of Crows story is way better. 

Obviously, I don’t know what will happen crows-wise in the Shadow and Bone series, but I would love to see the Ice Court heist in a show. Now I doubt we would be getting that any time soon unless the show writers are not following the books (not that they have been anyway). Imagine just how incredibly dramatic and high intensity it would be to see Inej scaling an incinerator on your TV screen. 

Please make this happen Netflix even if it’s just a short spin-off that focuses purely on the Ice Court heist.

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare 

It was announced that the BBC was adapting The Infernal Devices around two years ago now. Well BBC where is it? I need it. 

I’m desperate for a Shadowhunter chronicles adaptation that is actually good, I don’t hate the film or TV show, but neither did the book justice. Plus this is a lot of people’s favourite series of Cassandra Clare’s and I’m sure they would like to see a great adaptation of it. 

The fact that this one would be in period dress is what really sells it as a TV show for me. Imagine how amazing the costumes would be. Also, I am curious to see exactly what shadowhunters in the 1800s wear to fight. 

The casting for this would have to be done very carefully. Like who would play Will is anyone out there good enough?
