At the moment it seems like there are new films and shows coming out left, right and centre. Which is good for me because I love a good old binge-watch, especially as I’ve recently started reviewing films and TV shows.
I have plans to watch a few nostalgic films over the coming weeks for my ‘re-watch review’ series so keep an eye out for those. My plan for that series is to get it to a point where I’m uploading a review every other day… maybe. They take a lot of time to write.
Anyway, August is going to be the month of finishing previously started series.
The Umbrella Academy Season three – Netflix
I know I said I was going to watch this last month, but honestly, July got away from me a bit. It seems I have a problem watching the things I’m really excited about because I don’t want them to be over and then I have to wait even longer for more episodes. Silly I know.
But, I will 100% watch it in August. I’m literally going to start it Monday evening, and once you start you know you can’t stop.
Synopsis: On one day in 1989, 43 infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates the Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world.
Modern Family Season 10 & 11 – Now TV
So I found out Modern Family is on Now TV which means I can finally finish it! I’ve been slowly making my way through season nine for the last month, but now that I know I can access the last seasons I can binge it to my heart’s content.
Synopsis: Three modern-day families from California try to deal with their kids, quirky spouses and jobs in their own unique ways, often falling into hilarious situations.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season two and three – Disney+
I started watching this a few days ago and I freaking love it. I’d always said that it looked ridiculous and the High School Musical films are iconic so why would I want to watch this?
Well, I’m literally obsessed with Olivia Rodrigo, that’s why I want to watch it. Currently, I’m halfway through season one which I will no doubt finish by the end of the month, so bring on two and three.
Synopsis: Set at East High School, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” introduces members of the drama club and their faculty advisers as they work their way toward the opening night of the musicals that they produce. New romances blossom, old friendships are tested to their limits while new ones are formed, rivalries flare, and lives are changed forever as these students discover the transformative power that only high school theatre can provide.
Locke & Key Season three – Netflix
August will see the third and final season of Locke & Key and honestly I’m excited about sad about this. I adored the first season, the second was decent. I’m hoping the final season will capture the magic of the first and end the show with a bang. Hopefully not literally because I like a lot of the characters.
Synopsis: Following their father’s murder, three siblings move into a house filled with reality-bending keys; from the comics by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
