Single Review: Without You by Betty Reed

Without You is the latest single from Berklee College of Music graduate, Betty Reed. The track was created in collaboration with Nashville producer Evan Redwine. Betty Reed has two upcoming singles set to be released later this year.

A crescendo of bright guitars draws you into the track. Although the sound and style are very current there is an undertone of nostalgia reminiscent of early 2000s pop rock. This really adds to the feel good vibes of Without You.

The chorus is everything you would expect from this track. Upbeat and high energy, you can dance and sing along to Without You like you don’t have a care in the world. It is a dance like no one is watching type of song. Betty holds a strong vocal throughout that drips in charisma.

Without You is about breaking free and proving wrong those who don’t have faith in you. Drawing from Betty Reed’s actual life experiences the track is powered by real feelings of being torn down by those you thought would support you, but coming out of the other side a better and more fulfilled person. These make the track all the more special. It is definitely one that most can relate to.

Betty Reed has created a track that although packed with real emotion is still fun and highly energised. Without You is pop rock in its greatest form and I challenge you not to dance along to its fierce narrative.
