Lately is the second single from New York based talent Victoria Finehout-Vigil. Starting her performance career as a dancer, with a very impressive resume may I add, Victoria has recently started writing and releasing music.
The track was recorded at Naked City Audio in Las Vegas alongside Nick Anton and Steven Zeller.
Lately opens with silky smooth vocals running over the top of a plucky acoustic guitar. Sweet like honey.
In the beginning, Lately seems to be very unassuming. Which is exactly how you feel as the listener until the first chorus comes crashing in and Victoria’s powerful vocals hit you square in the face. The emotion pouring from them is raw and real taking you on a journey through the highs and low of attraction and the pain of unrequited love.
The track flows like a story, with ups, and downs and a monumentally huge bridge section. These all lend to the track’s cinematic undertone. It’s not often I am stunned silent by a song, but Lately has done just that. The pure emotion exuding from the lyrics, vocals and instrumentation has taken me completely by surprise, in the best way possible.
An awe-inspiring second release. Victoria’s vocals have quite literally blown me away. Lately is a huge track that showcases the beginning of what I am sure will be a string of successful releases from Victoria Finehout-Vigil. You can quote me on that.
