The Best Of: My Favourite Gaming Series

I’ve wanted to write gaming content for a while now as video games are a big part of my day-to-day life. I watch at least one gaming video on YouTube every day and have been doing so since I was 12, so almost half my life.

The very first ‘YouTuber’ I watched like most was PewDiePie and while I do still watch some of his content today, he doesn’t do gaming videos very often anymore. Since then my viewing habits have turned completely to Jacksepticeye, so basically these posts are going to mention him A LOT. If you don’t like Jacksepticeye then you probably won’t like these posts very much, sorry. Well, I’m not actually that’s a you problem.

I do want to find more gaming Youtubers to watch so if you have any suggestions please let me know. I’m mostly into horror games if that helps.

Anyway, let’s get into my first ever ‘favourite gaming series’ post. I’m very excited.

Resident Evil 7 – Jacksepticeye

Episodes: 8

If you’ve been reading Young Creative Press for a while now you will know that Resident Evil is my absolute favourite game franchise. I’ve watched so many of my favourite YouTubers play Resident Evil 7 probably about ten times and I’m still not bored of it.

I’m mentioning Jacksepticeye’s playthrough here but in fact, the first person I watched play this game was Joe Sugg. Remember when he did gaming videos? Anyway I digress,  Sean’s (Jack’s) videos were the first time he played the game, and my favourite thing is seeing people play this game for the first time. He always has great humour/comedic moments so don’t worry about it being scary he manages to break the tension almost 100% of the time.

This is a super fun playthrough and is a great introduction to this channel if you haven’t watched him before. I was going to mention his Resident Evil 2 series as that is a close second, but Resi 7 is my favourite game, so maybe next time.

Alice Madness Returns – Gab Smolders

Episodes: 5

Alice Madness Returns is one of my all-time favourite games. For years I have wanted one of my favourite YouTubers to do a complete playthrough of the game, but that never happened. Until November 2020 when Gab Smolders, who I had just started properly watching, played it for the first time.

Back when I religiously watched PewDiePie I was obsessed with his videos on this game. Annoyingly he never finished the game so for years, until I got it myself, I never knew how it ended.

Gab’s playthrough of this is amazing, just like all of her series. She very quickly became a favourite of mine after watching this entire series. I love that she does super-long episodes.

The Sims 4 with Jim Pickens and Kevin – Call Me Kevin

Episodes: 132

Now, this isn’t your usual ‘let’s play’ series. I do watch a few Sims YouTubers and they often do story-based playthroughs. Kevin is not one of those people. His Sims 4 series is pure chaos. Crazily modded with a cult lead by an old man called Jim Pickens every episode is hilarious.

I first discovered Kevin through Harry Potter RP videos a few years ago and I’ve watched pretty much every video he has uploaded since. His Sims 4 videos will always be my favourites (other than the ones with the Irish lads, which if you know, you know) and I’ve watched some of them quite a few times now.

If you’re looking for some Sims videos but don’t want to follow a story you can watch this series in basically any order. Don’t be put off by the number of videos they are all quite short and as I said before you can pick and choose which you want to watch.
