The Best Of: Comfort TV Shows I Could Watch Again and Again #2

When it comes to comforting watching I’m more of a film person, but there are a few more shows I would consider comfort watches. Most of the time they are short sitcoms that are guaranteed to make me laugh.

This post contains three more of my comfort TV shows and it will probably be the last one unless I discover some new shows.

Heartstopper (2022)

This is one of the newest additions to this list, but how could I not? Heartstopper in all its forms well and truly has my heart and I’m not mad about it. This show brings me pure joy and comfort.

It might be embarrassing to say but I’ve already watched the whole show five times. If I’m feeling down I know it will cheer me up. Also, I’m doing a re-watch review of the entire series, which is definitely just an excuse to watch it all again.

Synopsis: Heartstopper is a British coming-of-age romance streaming television series developed for Netflix based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman. Starring Kit Connor and Joe Locke, it tells the story of Charlie Spring, a gay schoolboy who falls in love with someone he sits next to in his new form, Nick Nelson, while also exploring the lives of Charlie and Nick’s friends: Tao, Elle, Tara, Darcy and Isaac.

Number of seasons: 1

Where to watch: Netflix

Superstore (2015 – 2021)

The fact that this is so easy to watch is what makes it so comforting to me. I know that if I’m feeling down I can put any episode of this on and it will make me laugh. The humour is absolutely ridiculous but that’s why I like it.

I’ve only watched the entire series chronologically once, I watched random episodes here and there when it first came out, but I’ll probably watch it again soon.

Synopsis: A group of employees working at Cloud 9, a big-box store in St Louis, Missouri, faces several challenges while dealing with customers and at the same time attending to their personal requirements.

Number of seasons: 6

Where to watch: Netflix and ITV Hub

Derry Girls (2018 – 2022)

It’s the accents in this that make it such a comforting yet hilarious watch. Now I’ve only seen a few of the episodes more than once, but this is still a comfort watch for me. It’s easy watching and I know I’ll laugh at least once at every episode.

I don’t care if some of you think something can’t be a comfort watch if you haven’t seen it multiple times, this is my post I’ll do what I want. Sorry, that was slightly aggressive wasn’t it?

Now that Netflix is getting the final season I’m definitely doing a re-watch soon. Maybe even do a review series on it?

Synopsis: In Derry, Northern Ireland, a young girl and her cousin embark on many exciting adventures after they attend a Catholic girls’ school in the midst of a national conflict.

Number of seasons: 3

Where to watch: Netflix and ITV Hub

  1. I put Superstore on for mindless background viewing one day and wound up bingeing the whole series in about a month–it’s SO funny and so underrated! Great list.
