To Be Watched: April 2023

I’m not going to lie, April is looking pretty dire for new releases. Not that I’m particularly good at keeping up with these, but there’s usually at least one TV show I’m excited about. Not this time, unfortunately, so sorry if you wanted to find some new releases, these will all be semi-old shows/films.

Only Murders in the Building – season two – Disney+

For some reason, I watched one episode of season two when it first came out and didn’t continue. Which doesn’t make sense because I love Selena Gomez and I really enjoyed the first season. I think it’s because I can’t watch Disney+ directly on my TV, I have to use my Xbox and that annoys me for some reason.

Synopsis: Three strangers share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.

Rewatch: Heartstopper – Netflix

It’s a bit embarrassing to admit this, but I’ve already watched the show five times, and I feel like a rewatch is needed soon. Heartstopper is my ultimate comfort show and I’ve really been getting the urge to either watch it again or reread the graphic novels, I’m thinking both.

Synopsis: Teens Charlie and Nick discover their unlikely friendship might be something more as they navigate school and young love.

Schitt’s Creek – Netflix

I’ve almost finished this entire show which is pretty funny considering I don’t find it very funny. I’m actually a little sad that I don’t love it because I’d heard incredible things about it, but I just don’t get it. The only reason why I’m so far into it is because it’s a good background show. I put it on when I’m writing posts or drawing new graphics, basically, it requires zero brain power to watch.

Synopsis: A married couple suddenly go bankrupt and the only remaining asset they have is an ugly small town named Schitt’s Creek.

Rewatch: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith – DVD/Disney+

I’m not sure yet whether I’ll watch my DVD of this or use Disney+, but myself and my boyfriend are currently watching all of the films again in chronological order. Revenge of the Sith is definitely my favourite from the prequels.

Synopsis: Anakin joins forces with Obi-Wan and sets Palpatine free from the evil clutches of Count Dooku. However, he falls prey to Palpatine and the Jedis’ mind games and gives into temptation.
