To Be Watched: December 2023

For potentially the first time ever, I’m mostly going to talk about films in a to be watched post. We all know by now I’d rather binge a show than watch multiple films, however, films are what December is all about if you ask me.

All the Christmas films

I’m a huge fan of Christmas films, which is probably obvious based on how many reviews I did last year, and I’m planning to watch so many next month. I didn’t watch that many last year so I want to make the most of it this year.

I won’t bore you with talks about anything specific (other than one new release further into this post) but there are a few staples that I watch every year: How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Home Alone.

I’m planning to review Home Alone 2 this year, which will be uploaded on Christmas day. That’s right, just the one film this year, I did way too many last year and I don’t want to run out of them too quickly.

The Santa Clauses

I never got around to watching this last year and I’m pretty sure a second season is releasing soon, so I’m planning to finally watch this next month. I have a feeling it’s the type of show I can put on in the background while I write posts or even wrap Christmas presents!

Synopsis: The Calvin family is back at the North Pole, as Scott Calvin continues his role as Santa Claus after his retirement plans were thwarted when he failed to find a successor; now that Christmas has been saved, Scott focuses on training his son Cal.

Family Switch

I’m basically only going to watch this because of Emma Myers and Jennifer Garner. I had no idea it was a Christmas film until now, so I’m quite excited about it. I think it’s a new take on Freaky Friday.

Synopsis: When family members switch bodies with each other during a rare planetary alignment, their hilarious journey to find their way back to normal will bring them closer together than they ever thought possible.
