If you’re coming into this post expecting festive reads, you’re in the wrong place. I’ve been spending the last four months or so getting twelve festive books read in time for my ‘12 books of Christmas’ series and it’s safe to say I am quite done with Christmas-related books.
Instead, I will be using my December to get a head start on January’s reviews and I can’t tell you how happy I am to be at a point with this blog where I’m so organised. If you’d told me a year ago I would already have posts written for next year, I would have stared at you in disbelief, but it’s true. I’ve never been so organised in my life.
Court of Ravens and Ruin by Eliza Raine

I know absolutely nothing about this book or author, however, I currently have Kindle Unlimited and I want to make the most of it. The cover looks stunning and that is exactly why I chose this. Will that come back to bite me? Potentially but I’m not putting that negative energy out into the ether.
Synopsis: A defiant human woman. A dark fae Prince. Two enemies bound to a marriage that could destroy their world.
Reyna was born a valuable slave to the Gold Court, imprisoned her whole life in a glittering palace by sadistic, greedy fae.
When the palace is raided, she takes her opportunity to escape. But the raid is led by her worst nightmare. The Prince of the most feared fae of all; the Shadow Court. And he wants one thing.
Her. The copper-haired, rune-marked human.
Reyna doesn’t know why the Prince has kidnapped her. But when he announces her as his betrothed, she knows that she must escape before she is eternally bound to the monster behind the mask.
Only, when he takes the mask off, he isn’t what she expects. He’s lethal, beautiful and exudes sin. And he needs her.
Drawn into a deadly world shrouded in secrets, and desperate to keep her own hidden, Reyna must find a way out. If she doesn’t, she risks more than just death. She risks giving everything to her intoxicating captor.
A Ruin of Roses by K.F. Breene

Another Kindle Unlimited read, but this one is a retelling and we all know how much I love those.
I want to post in my retellings series more often but I just haven’t read enough of them. Hopefully this one is good so I can add it to my list!
Synopsis: I could save him, but he would ruin me.
The beast.
The creature that stalks the forbidden wood.
The dragon prince.
He has suffered a fate worse than death. We all have. A curse put upon us by the mad king.
We are a kingdom locked in time. Shifters unable to feel our animals. Stuck here by a deal between the late king and a demon who seeks our destruction.
The only one keeping this kingdom alive is Nyfain, the golden prince to a stolen throne. The last dragon shifter.
He’s our hope.
He’s my nightmare.
When he catches me trespassing in the forbidden wood, he doesn’t punish me with death, as he’s entitled.
He takes me, instead. Forces me back to the castle as his prisoner. Seeks to use me.
Apparently, I can save him. I can save the whole forgotten kingdom, locked away by the demon king’s power.
But it would mean taming the monster beneath his skin. It would mean giving myself to him.
It would mean my ruin.
Love Among the Stars by Claerie Kavanaugh

Oh look, yet another Kindle Unlimited read. This one looks very fun and it’s sapphic so win-win. I’m pretty sure this is a short read and I feel like I will need that after already finishing over 100 books this year.
Synopsis: Hollywood’s best matchmaker may have finally met her match.
Genevieve “Eve” Davis is Hollywood’s best, most sought-after matchmaker. Just about in the City of Angels owes her for their happily ever afters. She’s been in the business for ten years and has never made a false move. The only person she hasn’t been able to hit with Cupid’s arrow? Herself.
Then Jemma, Hollywood’s most recent “it” girl, appears on her doorstep. But rather than having an extra bounce in her step, she looks like a dog just crapped all over her brand-new designer boots. The date Eve set up for her was anything but a fairytale beginning. In fact, it was a downright disaster. The first bad review Eve has ever had. If she can’t fix this, her perfect reputation will be torn to shreds.
Even worse, the deeper she digs for that secret ingredient that will help her find Jemma’s perfect match, the harder she falls.
