Book Confessions: Series I’m Never Going to Finish #4

Advertisements

I think I may stop writing introductions for these posts unless I have updates to share. Currently, I’m just making my way through the list of series I have to talk about and that’s about it really.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I did enjoy this series at the time but thinking about it now, I just didn’t care about the characters enough to finish, especially as each book just kept getting bigger. I’ve recently gotten rid of all of my Sarah J. Maas books as I had no desire to read them again/finish this series and also I’m not a fan of her as a person – sorry, but also not sorry if that offends you (I’ve genuinely received hate for saying something similar to this before).

Synopsis: In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king’s champion. Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass—and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

The Witch Hunter by Michelle Krys

Now, this is definitely not a popular series and I have never seen anyone talk about it online. If I’m being completely honest I don’t remember a single detail from the first book and had no idea that it was a series. I suppose reading it back in 2014 doesn’t help.

Synopsis: If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won’t stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn’t want to be her?

Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But it’s when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie’s world that she learns her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn’t get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that’s seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she’s a witch too.

Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie’s about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid.
