Books I Want To Re-Read in 2023

I have so many favourite books that I say I want to re-read every year but never do. The reason for this is that I need to read new books for content and also until last year you couldnโ€™t add re-reads on Goodreads. Well, that is changing in 2023. I fully plan to actually re-read these books as Iโ€™m going to start posting re-read reviews. Iโ€™m both excited and nervous to find out if they are still as good as I originally thought.

Iโ€™m going to keep my expectations low for how many re-reads I can do as I am also still reading a ton of ARCs this year, but theyโ€™re going to be good ones. Trust me.

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare

It has been so long since I read this series and I really need to change that. Iโ€™ve only ever read all of Cassandra Clareโ€™s books once other than City of Bones which I randomly re-read in 2017.ย

I cannot wait to have Will Herondale back in my life, well before Chain of Thorns is released later this month. My excitement for it is absolutely off the charts!

Itโ€™s not in the picture above, but I have the 10th-anniversary edition of Clockwork Angel so that will be the copy Iโ€™m going to read. Iโ€™m not sure if it has any extra content, but Iโ€™m excited to find out.ย

Synopsis: In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into Londonโ€™s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhuntersโ€”including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them…

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer

So, this will be my first time reading Cinder in a physical format. I originally read the e-book version and a couple of years ago I brought the entire series in physical format because I loved it so much.

Iโ€™ve been meaning to re-read this series for a very long time and now I finally have an excuse to do it.

Synopsis: Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earthโ€™s fate hinges on one girl. . . . Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg.

Sheโ€™s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsisterโ€™s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kaiโ€™s, she suddenly finds herself at the centre of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her worldโ€™s future.
