Best character
I don’t really have an explanation for loving her in this episode, other than the Riverdale stuff, but Kamala is one of my favourite characters.
Favourite scene
Devi and the coyote will never not be funny. Who hell approaches a wild animal? Even if you do think it’s a reincarnation of your dead dad.
Best quotes and one liners
KAMALA: I know. I think about you, too. I saw a couple riding a tandem bike. It made me think of how you don’t know how to ride a bike.
DEVI: So, like, how would your app turn your phone into a gun?
TRENT: Same way Transformers work. You just push a button, and it does it.
KAMALA: What would you like to watch, Devi? I found a Bollywood movie about a princess who falls for a lowly street sweeper. It’s only seven hours long.
DEVI: No, man. We’re watching Riverdale. Buckle up for some steamy teen romance.
KAMALA: These are high schoolers? And their parents are okay with them taking showers together in their homes?
DEVI: Yeah, Kamala. Welcome to American teen soaps. The actors are also older than Mom.
DEVI: So I’m going to my first party.
DR RYAN: Well, that should be fun.
DEVI: Which brings me to my question. Do you mind going to the store and buying me a thong?
DR RYAN: What?
DEVI: My mom won’t buy them for me. Just like a simple red lace thong with a rhinestone phrase on the front that says “do me.”
DR RYAN: I will not be buying you a tacky-ass thong.
DEVI: Fine. I’ll just cut the cheeks out of my normal underwear. Whatever.
KAMALA: I just watched 16 hours of Riverdale. Plus, some fan fiction where Jughead kisses Harry Potter.
Final thoughts and fun facts
I feel like the development of Paxton’s character at the end of the second episode was ruined in this episode. He’s only nice to Devi to get a good grade but I suppose he redeemed himself slightly in the end.
