SERPENT & DOVE (SERPENT & DOVE #1) BY SHELBY MAHURIN
This has been on my to be read for quite sometime and again I am not ashamed to admit that the cover is one of the reasons why.
Colour wise this cover is very simple, however in this case it is a good thing. There is so much going on behind the title that this design just would not work with too many colours.
The snake, which if you continue reading this post seems to be a running theme, is the perfect compliment to the background as whilst still being eyecatching, does not take away from the overall beauty.

THE QUEEN OF NOTHING (THE FOLK OF THE AIR #3) BY HOLLY BLACK
This is yet another book on this list that I have not read yet, but seriously just look at that cover how could I not include it.
It seems that snakes are a current trend in the world of YA covers and honestly I’m loving it. In this instance, the iridescent scales add a pop of colour to what could have been an average cover. This paired with the redness of the berries makes this cover a stand out for me.
This is probably one of my favourite covers to have been released so far this year and I am more than excited to continue reading this series.
