The Best Of: Graphic Novel Covers

Advertisements

I’ve included graphic novels in my ‘best of: YA book covers’ posts before but have never thought of doing a series dedicated to them. I’ve recently started reading graphic novels more often and I really love them. So many of them have beautiful covers and art styles.

The Tea Dragon Society by Kay O’Neill

I haven’t actually read The Tea Dragon Society yet but my god does it look adorable. The cover is what made me get this graphic novel so it absolutely has to be included in a post about great covers. I’m really hoping the content inside is just as good.

Synopsis: After discovering a lost tea dragon in the marketplace, Greta learns about the dying art form of tea dragon care-taking from the kind tea shop owners, Hesekiel and Erik. As she befriends them and their shy ward, Minette, Greta sees how the craft enriches their lives—and eventually her own.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Collected Editions) #1) by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

I love this cover so much that I actually own it on a T-shirt. Weirdly though I don’t like the art style of this comic very much. My main issue is that the teenagers all look about 40, especially Harvey. It would have been if the comic had the same art style as the opening sequence for the show. They are quite similar but it’s just nicer somehow.

Synopsis: On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, the young sorceress Sabrina Spellman finds herself at a crossroads, having to choose between an unearthly destiny and her mortal boyfriend, Harvey. But a foe from her family’s past has arrived in Greendale, Madame Satan, and she has her own deadly agenda.
