The Best Of: Kindle Unlimited & Prime Reading #15

Advertisements

This isn’t a series I usually include in my festive content but I realised at the beginning of this year that some of the festive books I’ve enjoyed are available with both reading services. I’ve actually got a couple of festive books from Kindle Unlimited to read during this month. I don’t normally read any outside of my 12 books of Christmas series but I wanted a couple of festive books to read during December for a change. You’d think I’d be completely over Christmas books by this point and honestly, I kind of am, but there’s less pressure to read them quickly now.

Single All the Way by Portia MacIntosh

This was my first festive read of 2022 and I absolutely flew through it. I liked it so much that I’ve checked multiple of Portia MacIntosh’s books since. She’s actually one of my favourite rom com writers as her main characters are always funny and relatable. Her comedy is so effortless to me and her books have actually made me laugh out loud a few times.

Single All the Way is actually a pretty short book, which works well for festive romances if you ask me. The story and its romance has enough time to develop without making the book drag. I’d highly recommend you check this one out.

Synopsis: Will Dani find love this Christmas? Or will she be Single All The Way…?

When Dani’s boyfriend (and boss!) dumps her for a younger model, the only silver lining she can see is to be able to spend Christmas at home with her family after years away.

Determined to surprise them, Dani turns up unannounced in her hometown, excited to see that the festive season in Marram Bay is in full swing with Christmas lights twinkling on every corner. But disaster strikes when she finds her parents’ house is empty and they appear to have gone away on holiday!

Christmas alone and single is not ideal, and when Dani starts bumping into old friends, neighbours and potential love interests, she can’t face telling them the truth. So in a panic she claims to be home to throw a Christmas party for the whole town – easier said than done with 12 days to go before Christmas…

As the fake party approaches, little does Dani know that there may be someone there under the mistletoe for her, if she can just let her guard down and see them…

Snow Falls Over Starry Cove by Nancy Barone

If you ignore the ridiculous name of the love interest, this is a great read. It’s a fairly quick read and the storyline was about so much more than just the romance. There are a lot of cleverly placed foreshadowing moments and I was actually quite impressed with how well these were written in. Again, just ignore the silly name and the fact that he isn’t described in the best way.

Synopsis: Emmie Weaver has it all – a handsome fiancé and students who love her. So why does she feel so lost?

When Emmie’s estranged grandfather dies, leaving her a barge in Starry Cove, it’s a welcome chance to hit pause. But as soon as she arrives in the Cornish village, it’s clear this won’t be the relaxing break she was expecting. Her grandmother wants nothing to do with her and Jago Moon, a handsome yet hostile town bad boy, is inexplicably determined to not let her boat touch water.

Christmas is fast approaching and so is her wedding date. Can Emmie stay long enough to see snow fall over Starry Cove? And will finding out about her past help her decide her future?
