My to be read for September is being kept purposefully short (are you getting deja vu for last month’s post?), I’m still really struggling to get through books – at the time of writing this post I’ve finished three books and one graphic novel for the entirety of August. I’m so grateful that I’m so ahead on book reviews this year, I’d be seriously stuck if I wasn’t.
Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
I’ve owned this book for almost three years and even though it’s not the oldest book on my kindle by far, I do think it’s about time I check it out – especially as I’ve bought all available instalments so far and I have no idea if I actually like them or not.
This book feels like a good way to ease myself into the more autumnal/Halloween reads, which we all know are some of my favourites. I don’t think this is actually spooky or autumnal in the slightest but there’s something about villains that I associate with the later seasons.
This isn’t a series I’ve heard a lot about but I have seen it everywhere since it was published. Hopefully I will have a great time with it.

Oh look, another book that’s been sitting on my Kindle for quite a long time now. Weirdly, it’s another series that I own all of the books of despite having not read the first book yet. I can’t deny a 99p ebook.
It’s also a series that I’ve wanted to read for a long time. I actually remember this book being published in 2014 and I really wanted to read it, which is why I’m surprised I haven’t read it yet. We all know by now how distracted I get by new books. Plus it doesn’t feel like I’m getting through my to be read at all at the moment.
