Audiobook Review: P.S. It’s Always Been You Part 3 by Lauren Blakely

Synopsis:

P.S. It’s Always Been You: Part 3 is the third instalment in the P.S. It’s Always Been You series and should be enjoyed following P.S. It’s Always Been You: Part 1 and P.S. It’s Always Been You: Part 2.

Hunter Armstrong sauntered back into my life unexpectedly, all lopsided grin, mischievous eyes and rugged determination. Not to mention a huge heart. He’s nearly impossible to resist, but that’s what I have to do as we follow the clues in a trail of love letters from a century ago. But with every new twist in the story, this treasure hunter seems to set his sights more firmly on reclaiming my heart. I desperately want to believe him, but the trouble is I don’t know if I’m simply getting swept up in the past, or if we can truly try again for a brand new present.

Synopsis:

I decided to not leave a huge gap between instalments this time and I’m glad I did. Part three is easily the best of the entire P.S. It’s Always Been You series.

I wasn’t massively invested in Presley and Hunter’s relationship, however, the love letters from the past I was invested in. Their love story was far more endearing and the circus theme was so cool. I love a circus setting, even one that’s mentioned in passing like in this book.

The treasure hunt aspect was also entertaining. There’s a lot more going on in part three and the flashbacks via the love letters were my favourite parts of the whole series.

The narration was also better this time. Scott Eastwood still isn’t perfect, his narration is still pretty slow, but there were less weird pauses and inflections. So an all round more entertaining read. Andi Arnt was great as usual. She’s a real staple in the Audible Original world.

This series as a whole was highly entertaining, I’m just left wondering why it’s split into three instalments. I think my overall rating would have been higher if I’d listened to just one audiobook. Having it in three left too much space for details to be forgotten. If you’re interested in listening to P.S. It’s Always Been You, I’d recommend listening to each part back-to-back if possible. I think the entire series is only about 7 hours long without increasing the speed–which I also recommend you do.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
