So, it’s been over a year since I started this series and I need to make a real plan to actually get rid of all of these books. You’re all probably judging me for not doing so yet, but I’m busy and also have ADHD so I forgot they existed.
When We Collided by Emery Lord
I read this book in 2018 and while I did really enjoy it, I have no intention to ever read it again. If that urge ever did come around, I think Iโd just buy the ebook. Teen me is shocked by that announcement. I used to be very anti ebook as I love the feeling of a physical book, however, the majority of the books I read these days are ebooks – weโll call that character development.
I think I read this entire book in one sitting because it just completely consumed me. It is a very good book and it has decent mental illness representation from what I can remember. Emery Lord is probably one of my favourite contemporary writers.
Synopsis: We are seventeen and shattered and still dancing. We have messy, throbbing hearts, and we are stronger than anyone could ever knowโฆ
Jonah never thought a girl like Vivi would come along.
Vivi didnโt know Jonah would light up her world.
Neither of them expected a summer like thisโฆa summer that would rewrite their futures.
In an unflinching story about new love, old wounds, and forces beyond our control, two teens find that when you collide with the right person at just the right time, it will change you forever.
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
I only brought this book because Leigh Bardugo wrote it, but in reality, I have no interest in DC. Iโm pretty sure this was very cheap in The Works and thatโs why I got it, but itโs been sitting on my shelves for years now and Iโve never once thought about picking it up.
Synopsis: Daughter of immortals.
Princess Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon lawโrisking exileโto save a mortal. Diana will soon learn that she has rescued no ordinary girl, and that with this single brave act, she may have doomed the world.
Daughter of death.
Alia Keralis just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesnโt know she is being hunted by people who think her very existence could spark a world war. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringerโa direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.
Together.
Two girls will face an army of enemiesโmortal and divineโdetermined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. Tested beyond the bounds of their abilities, Diana and Alia must find a way to unleash hidden strengths and forge an unlikely alliance. Because if they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.
