Synopsis:
“I am no prince!”
When the heroic princess Amira rescues the kind-hearted princess Sadie from her tower prison, neither expects to find a true friend in the bargain. Yet as they adventure across the kingdom, they discover that they bring out the very best in the other person. They’ll need to join forces and use all the know-how, kindness, and bravery they have in order to defeat their greatest foe yet: a jealous sorceress, who wants to get rid of Sadie once and for all.
Join Sadie and Amira, two very different princesses with very different strengths, on their journey to figure out what happily ever after really means — and how they can find it with each other.
Review:
Princess Princess Ever After was extremely cute, but this is something Iโve come to expect from a Kay OโNeill graphic novel. It is definitely meant for a younger audience but it can be enjoyed by anyone. Especially if you like a quick, fun and easy read.
The art of this was different to their other work and while I donโt like it as much, it is still pleasant to look at. I like how bold and blocky everything was and the colouring was great.
I really liked the storyline and how the princesses saved each other. It was very refreshing to see a prince who was a bit useless and didnโt actually want to be out rescuing princesses. The princesses actually save him and in the end, he doesnโt want to be a prince anymore, he becomes a royal advisor for Sadie (one of our princesses) when she becomes queen.
The pacing seemed a little off as everything seemed to happen very quickly so there wasn’t much time for character development, but otherwise Princess Princess Ever After was a great, refreshing and quick read. If you are looking for something fun to boost your reading goal, or if you like cute graphic novels, Iโd definitely recommend it.
