Apologies for abandoning this series for literally a year, not sure what happened there. I’ll be attempting to post these monthly going forward.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune – Cynthetic
Synopsis: “Drake’s Fortune follows Nathan Drake, who believes himself to be a descendant of famed explorer Sir Francis Drake. A 400-year-old clue in the coffin of Sir Francis Drake sets the modern-day fortune hunter on an exploration for the fabled treasure of El Dorado, leading to the discovery of a forgotten island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The search turns deadly when Drake becomes stranded on the island and hunted by mercenaries. Outnumbered and outgunned, Drake and his companions must fight to survive as they begin to unravel the terrible secrets hidden on the Island.”
I’ve actually never seen this game until now and this is such a great playthrough to witness it for the first time. Cyn is very good at doing serious playthroughs with small injections of comedy, you can tell that she’s very comfortable making videos now. I also love that this isn’t an upload of a previously live stream as I’m really not a fan of those. It’s fine if they aren’t talking to the live chat all the time, but when they do, there’s a real disconnect from the gameplay. Anyway, that’s enough ranting about that from me.
You can’t deny how entertaining the Uncharted games are. Yes, the platforming is a little dated but it looks great for its age. I think this is a remastered version, so of course it looks pretty good, but still. It’s packed full of action, even if there are too many waves of enemies, and the story is interesting.
I had no idea Uncharted had supernatural elements. I’ve only ever seen the fourth game and I’m pretty certain that doesn’t have any, but I could be wrong. Does it have ghosts? I can’t remember.
This is actually a pretty short game and you could easily have this on as background noise. There’s a lot of story-based dialogue and the gameplay sections don’t really add too much so it’s perfect for a give it half of your attention type of series.
I’ve said it quite a few times now, but I really do recommend Cyn if you haven’t checked her out yet. She’s quite the hidden gem.
