Resident Evil Village – Smosh Games

I’ve mentioned this in another post but I used to watch Smosh way back in like 2011 but I very quickly outgrew the sketch comedy aspect. I’m still not a huge fan of this, but I recently got into their channels again. I’ve always had Smosh clips served to me via Reels and honestly, Angela is the one that convinced me to check them out again. Also, they recently did a bunch of videos with Jacksepticeye, who you all know is my favourite Youtuber. After watching all of his videos with them, I came across their Resident Evil playthroughs. I did enjoy watching them play Resident Evil 7, but you can tell they enjoyed Village more – which makes sense, it’s more action than horror.
I spent around three evenings watching through both playthroughs and honestly, this is one I can see myself returning to. Not only is Spencer my absolute favourite member of Smosh, but I also love the dynamic between him, Angela and Amanda. It’s just too good. There are so many insane jokes during this playthrough. “Your labe. That was CRUDE” is a standout for obvious reasons (you may need to watch to see why this is so funny).
I also just love watching people experience the Resident Evil games for the first time. It’s one of my all time favourite game franchises, if you couldn’t tell by the amount of times I’ve mentioned it in this post series alone. I especially love it when people get really into it. Amanda and Angela aren’t gamers, but they really get into the story and I love how much Amanda thirsts for Heisenberg and Chris. I can’t wait for her to meet Leon. I’m really hoping they’ll at least play two, four and nine, but I have a feeling they’ll go straight to nine as it’s just come out.
I was actually going to talk about Jacksepticeye’s playthrough of Resident Evil 9 in today’s post, but I think I’d need to rewatch the series to refresh my memory. I’m actually playing Resident Evil village myself right now, so this playthrough feels quite fresh in my mind. I even said “sanguinus weenus” when I picked up the wine in Castle Dimitrescu.
If you’ve never watched Smosh before, this playthrough will probably feel a little intense with all of the humour and general rowdiness that is Angela (I feel like we are very similar people) but it’s also a great place to see if you like their game content. I pretty much exclusively watch the game and podcast channel as I’m not a fan of sketch comedy. Plus, this is where you get the most Spencer, who let’s admit, is one of the best parts of Smosh.
