Organising My Goodreads #14

Annoyingly I’ve massively fallen behind on posts and for once I’m writing this post the day it’s being published. I’m planning to have a massive blog writing day tomorrow, so hopefully I can publish some longer posts again. Having a puppy really does take up all of your time, especially when you also work full time.

Frost by Kaitlyn Davis

I was thinking about removing this until I saw that it has a rating of 4 on Goodreads and is also a retelling. Now, I got this free on my Kindle so my hopes aren’t too high that it’s going to be amazing, but that average rating is promising.

Verdict: keep

Synopsis: A vampire thief on the run.

A tracker determined to catch her.

A love not even fate saw coming.

Vampire lore meets ancient Greek mythology in this action-packed paranormal romance perfect for fans of Shadowhunters, Fallen, and A Shade of Vampire!

All vampire thief Pandora Scott wants to do is put her old life behind her. That’s a lot easier said than done when a supernaturally enhanced tracker, who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend, is determined to hunt her down.

After four years of running, she’s finally been caught — and that’s not even the worst part.

When her latest heist goes south, the head vampire of New York lays a price on her head for snatching a prized-possession from his personal vault. Now she has two choices — rely on Jax, the boy who broke her heart, or accept help from Sam, a mysterious vampire who knows more than he’s letting on.

Naturally, she goes with secret option number three — run like hell.

But this time, escape won’t be so easy. Because even a super-speedy vampire with the ability to disappear can’t outrun her own destiny…

Silken Scales by Alex Hayes

I don’t think I ever read the synopsis of this book until now and my god is it cringe. This is a very easy decision.

Verdict: remove

Synopsis: Idris Williams’ life may seem perfect…

Sure, Idris has confidence and great looks, a famous father and a beautiful girlfriend. Life would be perfect if he could dodge the bullet his father has aimed at his head — following dear old Dad into motivational-speaking stardom. But there doesn’t seem to be a way out…

— Until Idris morphs into something green and scaly.

Cadi has finally found a safe and loving home. Then a malicious boy turns her whole world upside down. The next thing she knows, she’s wandering the streets on New Year’s Eve, alone.

— Until a crystal leads her to this lizard boy with a smart mouth and massive ego.

To change Idris back into his sexy human self, Cadi must reveal a secret she’s been holding close to her heart for as long as she can remember. A secret that will send them racing to close a wormhole ahead of a deadly army.

A secret that could change their worlds forever…

Monster Academy for the Magical by Jessica Sorensen

I’m guessing this was added during my ‘magical academy’ phase. I definitely still enjoy that trope, but it’s been a while since I read one. I may have out grown it now as this was added quite some time ago. Let’s be honest, I’ll probably never read this.

Verdict: remove

Synopsis: My name is Haven, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve had the ability to cause madness with just a simple touch. I’ve spent my entire life being fear by others and believing I was the only one of my kind. Turn out, I was wrong.

After an incident with my powers, I’m sent away to Monster Academy for the Magical, a school where monsters with magical powers are trained.

But even at an academy filled with monsters, I’m still feared. And some will do almost anything to get rid of me.
