Best character
Dash brandishing a huge candy cane to fight off security in the Macy’s Santaland was too good. I really like him in this episode.

Best quotes and one liners
LILY: My great aunt, Mrs. Basil E, says I’m an old soul. My brother, Langston, says I’m too cool for people my age. I think they’re just being nice.
LANGSTON: You will find someone amazing too.
LILY: I’m not like you. I’m not good at meeting guys or talking to them. I’m good at scaring them away.
LANGSTON: Can you give me tips? They won’t leave me alone. It’s exhausting.
JEFF THE ELF: Twelve and under.
DASH: Well, I think you can make an exception.
JEFF THE ELF: Twelve and under only.
LILY: What do you say to a power-mad elf?
DASH: Well, I bet The New York Times would be very interested to know that you’ve made it a store policy to discriminate against teenagers.
JEFF THE ELF: Teenagers cause trouble.
DASH: Well, I’m eleven – tall for my age.
Final thoughts and fun facts
The soundtrack is so good for this episode. Last Christmas, Christmas Wrapping, pure bangers.
One of the storefront shutters on the ground floor of Lily’s building has bilingual graffiti art in keeping with the show’s theme of belief. Additionally, Japanese kanji and hiragana are circling the centre. It says “Nanika wo shinjiru” or “Believe in Something.” In English lettering, it also says “Believe in Something,” but with the last word crossed out. The word “Me” is placed prominently in the foreground in a way that covers both the centre and frame areas.
Actor Dante Brown who plays Boomer, mentions that the elf was on Law & Order: SVU and is, therefore, a celebrity. Dante Brown was in an episode of Law & Order: SVU.
I think this may be one of my favourites, if not my favourite episode of this show. It’s so festive and I love how many of the Christmas song classics it has.
