Episode synopsis
S1 EP2 – Summer Dress: It’s Belly’s first day as a debutante, and a day of shopping and tea parties make her wonder if she made the right choice when she checked yes on Susannah’s invitation. But when Cam shows up, things turn around for Belly. Her summer of firsts is just getting started. Meanwhile, Steven’s having his own summer of romance, and Laurel is intrigued by a fellow author.

Best character
I might have to give this to both Steven and Jeremiah this episode, purely because of all of the funny moments they have together, My favourite it at teh book party where Steven is holding a huge stack of books and Jeremiah is balancing more on top. They are such idiots, but I love them.
Best supporting character
I jokingly gave this section to Shayla in the last episode, but I’m seriously giving it to her this time, She’s really nice to Belly at the debutante tea when it’s obvious she’s nervous, she’s also very good with a beauty blender apparently. She made that bruise disappear in two seconds.

I love any type of montage in a show/film and when it includes trying on multiple outfits, even better. Also Lola looks absolutely stunning in every dress.
I love any moment where Conrad is pining after Belly and she doesn’t realise it. Which is why this moment is so good.

JEREMIAH: Uh, are those… are those pineapples?
BELLY: Pineapples?
JEREMIAH: Pineapples, yeah?
BELLY: No, they’re flowe… Have you seen flowers before?
JEREMIAH: I-I have, but that is, for sure, a pineapple. That’s a nice pineapple dress you got there.
JEREMIAH: This is Belly. I mean, uh, Isabel Conklin, the young woman my mom told you about, my future wife.
BELLY: I went down to the marina yesterday, but, uh, your boat had already left.
CAM: Seriously? Man.
BELLY: Yeah. If you’d looked back toward the pier, you would’ve seen a-a sweaty version of me looking wistfully toward your boat.
CAM: Well, we never want you to be wistful.
BELLY: You know, I think it’s too late. The wistfulness has set in.
BELLY: Steven, if you don’t leave, I swear to God I will send everyone in this car your Dramione fanfic.
STEVEN: You wouldn’t.
BELLY: Oh, he spent an entire chapter talking about Draco’s wand.
JEREMIAH: Don’t be embarrassed, man. Draco’s hot.
Best musical moment
This episode starts with Dover Beach by Baby Queen and that is one of my favourite songs of all time. When I tell you the first time I pretty much screamed when it started, I’m not lying.
Final thoughts and fun facts
This episode feels really short and honestly not a lot happens. I still really love it though, this show had me in a chokehold from the first episode and I’m still just as obsessed.
I love all of the little Belly and Conrad interactions in this episode and how she doesn’t realise he likes her is a bit ridiculous. That boy has jealously written all over his face.
