Episode synopsis
S1 EP5 – Summer Catch: Believing that Conrad might act on his feelings for her, Belly makes a decision. But when Belly and Conrad finally get a chance to talk, things don’t go as she expected, and she wonders if she’s had her eye on the wrong Fisher brother. Steven is assigned to work the poker room at the country club, and Laurel and Susannah have a night out.

I want to pick Conrad because he’s adorable in this episode and it’s so nice to see him happy, but mostly because of the little boop he gives Junior Mint. It’s so freaking cute, Christopher Briney is very charming.

Best supporting character
Ah Cam Cameron you sweet summer child. He’s so nice in this episode, but he is quite lame, isn’t he? Avocado and sprout sandwiches? C’mon dude. It was pretty cute when he saw the whale though.
Also, he took his ‘break up’ with Belly very well. He handled it like an adult and didn’t make a huge scene about it, I can respect that.

I think this is my favourite opening of the whole show. How Belly never realised Conrad likes her is beyond me. He did not hesitate to volunteer to dance with her and the way he smiles and laughs with her. Adorable.
What a cutie. You know he’s down bad when the first thing he does when he wakes up is smile.

SHAYLA: The first time I got drunk, I FaceTimed each one of my exes, one by one, and made them tell me why we broke up.
SHAYLA: Does Jere ever take anything seriously?
STEVEN: Yeah, food and flirting.

BELLY: Susannah told me that when I was born, she knew I was destined for one of her boys. I always hoped it would be Conrad. But here I am, about to kiss Jeremiah Fisher.
Best musical moment
Laurel and Susannah dancing to Don’t Cha by Pussy Cat Dolls is absolutely iconic. I was hoping to find a clip of it, but couldn’t unfortunately.
Final thoughts and fun facts
I’m really not a fan of Belly and Jeremiah together, maybe if I didn’t know what he did in the books I wouldn’t dislike him so much. But I am a Conrad girlie through and through. Plus I find Chris more attractive, sorry Gavin.
Susannah wanting to paint Jeremiah as Hermes is actually very profound, is that the right word? I don’t think it is but I say this because Jeremiah is mischievous just like Hermes and it’s a very subtle hint, but it really means something. Well, I’m assuming they did it for this reason, if not, a happy accident.
