This is the first best covers post of 2024 and I’ve got some great picks this month. I seem to have gone for a pink/purple theme and I’m not mad about it. A few years ago, I was very drawn to blue covers, but that seems to have shifted lately.
Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber

I wouldn’t say this cover blows me away, but the tiny details are gorgeous. I love the combination of pink and orange (one of my favourite colour combos). It definitely catches your eye, but it is pretty simple.
Synopsis: How far would you go for happily ever after?
For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in true love and happy endings… until she learns that the love of her life will marry another.
Desperate to stop the wedding and to heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic but wicked Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.
But after Evangeline’s first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game—and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she’d pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after or the most exquisite tragedy…
It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han

This is my least favourite cover of this series, but it is still very pretty. The updated covers have a delicate beauty to them thanks to the beachy/shell theme – basically, I hate covers with real people on them.
The peach is very nice, but compared to the other covers, it doesn’t really stand out. I think this is also down to the fact that I couldn’t get a high-res cover for the picture. Always ruins it.
Synopsis: Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach?
It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started—at Cousins Beach.
