The Best Of: Beautiful Book Covers #35

A Dance with the Fae Prince by Elise Kova

Elise Kova’s covers never disappoint. Every single one of her books has a completely stunning cover. So stunning that I wish I owned physical copies so I could sit staring at them all day.

The colours are so eye catching and the artwork is so beautiful. It has that hand-painted effect that I really love. The character designs also have an ‘other-worldly’ look to them that you’d expect from a book about the fae.

I look forward more and more for every cover reveal that Elise does. Purely because I know each will be as stunning as the last.

Synopsis: Katria swore she’d never fall in love. She’s seen what “love” means through the cruelty of her family. So when she’s married off to the mysterious Lord Fenwood for a handsome price, all Katria wants is a better life than the one she’s leaving. Feelings are off the table.

But her new husband makes not falling in love difficult.

As their attraction begins to grow, so too do the oddities within her new life: strange rules, screams in the night, and attacks by fae that Katria never thought were real. When she witnesses a ritual not meant for human eyes, Katria finds herself spirited away to the land of Midscape.

Surviving the fae wilds as a human is hard enough. Katria must survive as a human who accidentally pilfered the magic of ancient kings – magic a bloodthirsty king is ready to kill her for in order to keep his stolen throne – and her new husband is the rightful heir in hiding.

The power to save the fae is in her hands. But who will save her from a love she vowed never to feel?

The Book of Living Secrets by Madeleine Roux

Oh how I wish the beauty of this cover reflected the story inside. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case, but that isn’t what this post is about. This post is about being shallow and that is exactly what I am being right now.

There is something so visually pleasing about this cover that I just can’t put my finger on. It’s quite possibly the small pops of colour on an otherwise dark cover that I really enjoy. Taking a good photo (I hope you also think it’s a good photo) of this cover was easy as it took little to no effort on my end.

Synopsis: No matter how different best friends Adelle and Connie are, one thing they’ve always had in common is their love of a little-known gothic romance novel called Moira. So when the girls are tempted by a mysterious stranger to enter the world of the book, they hardly suspect it will work. But suddenly they are in the world of Moira, living among characters they’ve obsessed about for years.

Except…all is not how they remembered it. The world has been turned upside down: The lavish balls and star-crossed love affairs are now interlaced with unspeakable horrors. The girls realize that something dark is lurking behind their foray into fiction—and they will have to rewrite their own arcs if they hope to escape this nightmare with their lives.
