I haven’t thought about this series much since last time so I still don’t have a set structure and I don’t think I ever will. Just pure rambling.
Superstore
Synopsis: “The series takes place at Cloud 9 Store 1217, a fictional big-box megastore. The associates and management find themselves dealing with their duties but also with customer issues and each other. Some employees come to work in order to make a better life, while some are doing whatever it takes to succeed. For a few, working at Cloud 9 could lead to romance.”
I’m now realising that every show I’ve talked about so far have been ones I included in my re-watch review series – I’ve rewatched them for a reason, but that just further makes my point, in my opinion. The reason why I wanted to re-watch and review these shows is because they are so binge-worthy. Especially Superstore. The episodes are only 30 minutes tops, so you find yourself constantly saying “just one more” and before you know it, you’re on the next season.
I’m currently on my third chronological rewatch, I used to watch random episodes when they were on E4, and it never gets old. It’s just too good. I genuinely think it’s one of the most underrated sitcoms and it deserves more recognition.
I love that each season, other than the first and last, has more than 20 episodes. It’s so rare now for shows to have more than 10 episodes a season. I get that these are short episodes so it equates to the same amount of time, but still. I love long seasons and every single episode of Superstore is hilarious. I don’t think there’s a single episode that hasn’t made me laugh.
If you haven’t watched Superstore before, the synopsis doesn’t make it sound too great, but it’s honestly one of the funniest shows. Especially if you’ve worked in retail before. The little transition scene where the customers do weird things is so relatable. Obviously, it’s over the top for comedic reasons, but these things do happen sometimes. God, I do not miss working in retail.
Just talking about the show is making me want to watch it. I’m in need of comfort watches right now and this one might just be at the top of my list.
