Mamma Mia
If you can’t tell by now, I love a movie musical. Mamma Mia is pure cheese, but I’m a fan of cheddar. As a singer myself (I don’t do music anymore), I love films with singing and dancing and this one is so feel-good it’s impossible not to feel great when watching it. Plus knowing that the actors were constantly drunk while filming it makes it even better. Feels like you’re partying with friends.
The entire cast for this film is so iconic. Especially Julie Walters. She reminds me of home and any film she’s in gives me comfort. Plus she looks like a teacher I had at school and she was hilarious.
I remember going to see this in the cinema with my mom and sister so this has so many great memories and nostalgia for me. Going out to the cinema would be an entire night out for us and a special treat so I always have a special love for any films we’d go see.
This film is one I always like to watch during summer. It sets up the season so well. I think I need to give the second film another chance. I’ve only seen it once and didn’t like it as much as the original so I wrote it off.
You’ll notice by now that most of the films I’ve done re-watch reviews of have been comfort films. Check out my Mamma Mia one: Re-Watch Review: Mamma Mia
Synopsis: As Sophie and her family are busy preparing for her wedding, she secretly invites three men, who were her mother’s lovers in the past, with the hope that one of them is her father.
