December is one of the only times of the year that I genuinely have time to really sit and enjoy a book. Every year I like to take at least a week off over the Christmas period and this is usually when I get ahead on content for the new year. However, I already have reviews written for February (I donโt have all of them written for January yet as I have a few festive reads and ARCs to get through).
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison

Iโve likely already finished this book by the time this post goes up, but reading this has been a long time coming. Iโve had my sights set on this book ever since it blew up on Twitter years ago and Iโve owned a copy of it for a couple of years. This is the problem with books set around Christmas โ you want to read them during Christmas and last year I didnโt read many festive books other than a couple outside of my 12 books of Christmas series. This year, I had such a horrific time with my 12 books of Christmas series, that I wanted to get as many festive books in as possible to remind myself why I love reading them.
Synopsis: Lovelight Farms is a wholesome rom-com featuring a handsome, freckled data analyst, a messy, optimistic Christmas tree farm owner, and a small town with the best hazelnut lattes on the east coast. This sweet and steamy romance, by B. K. Borison, is a holiday happily-ever-after for fans of Tessa Bailey and Hannah Grace.
In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm sheโs loved since she was a child, Stella enters a contest with insta-famous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the huge cash prize, she might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. Thereโs just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on the application and said that she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only . . . there is no boyfriend.
Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just came home for some hot chocolate, and somehow got a farm and a serious relationship in the process. Will their fake love affair save Lovelight Farms in time for Christmas?
Dear Marley by Danielle Keil

Iโm fully back in my Kindle Unlimited era (for the next three months) so Iโm determined to finish this series. I still have five books to read in this series, but theyโre so short that I reckon Iโll get through them all before my subscription runs out (I got three months for 99p).
Iโm excited to continue this series. Theyโre such lovely, light hearted reads and I know I can get through them pretty quick so theyโre a great way to get a head start on content for next year.
Synopsis: Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.
For Marley โSunnyโ Sorenshine, a Secret Admirer might be just what she needs to put her recent, very public, break up behind her.
Her optimism is dimmed when she reads the first noteโher admirer was tricked into participating. He didnโt choose Marley, a dart did. And he wants her to quit.
But if Marley is good at anything, itโs seeing the silver lining and standing up for herself. She decides to throw her Sunny disposition into the game to challenge her Admirerโs grumpiness.
The guy canโt be all that badโhe carefully crafted a crossword puzzle just for her. And as the month goes on, he shares more personal details that intrigue her.
Will Marley stick it out until the end, or will her Admirers morose attitude get the best of her?
A Queen of Ice by Elise Kova

Finishing this series has also been a long time coming. My journey with this series started with an ARC of the first book back in 2021. Unfortunately I missed the opportunity to get ARCs of the last three books in this series, hence why it has taken me so long to get around to finishing it. Itโs weirdly become a tradition to read a book in this series around Christmas.
Anyway, Iโm both excited and terrified to finish this series. The characters are in a completely different place to when the series started and I have no idea how this will end. Justice for Cullen though, heโs my boy.
Synopsis: The epic conclusion of Eiraโs saga of love, loss, and power.
A pirate doesnโt askโฆthey take.
Ravaged by grief and driven to the brink, Eira and her crew are caught at the heart of a tempest:
โฆ Five kingdoms on the verge of war
โฆ An empire poised to crush them all
โฆ A pirate queen terrorizing the seas
โฆ And a madman, the architect of every shattered dream, broken heart, and spilled blood. He is on the verge of achieving is dream of ushering in a new eraโone ruled by his iron fist and fueled by blind, unwavering loyalty. His only mistake? He made it personal for the one woman powerful enough to stop him.
Eira is done playing by the rules. Done holding back her magic, her heart, and her fury. Sheโs ready to crush her enemies, their vision, and anyone who dares to stand in her way.
With everything on the line, Eira will show the world they were right when they called her โdangerousโ all those years ago. Sheโs going to claim victory for herself, or die trying.
I do have plans to read more books than these three, however, as I have Kindle Unlimited at the moment I have no idea what I will feel like picking up. Iโve had lots of lovely indie authors share their books with me on Threads, so Iโm likely to check some of those out.
