My current plan for October is to read only thrillers, horrors and general spooky books – including witchy books, obviously. I’m not sure if this will be the case as I’ve been choosing my current reads based more on my mood rather than following the exact plan I’d set. However, you know there will be at least one spooky book.
I’m not sure how much reading will actually get done as at the end of this week I’m picking up my new puppy so I’m going to be very busy with training and generally just looking after two dogs.
October is probably when I’ll pick up the books in my autumn to be read, so any other planned reads need to be fairly short. Hence why this post only has two picks for the month!

Murder High by Lauren Muñoz
I read Lauren Muñoz’s debut a couple of years ago and while it wasn’t my favourite read, I am looking forward to checking out more of her books. For some reason this book has two different titles, but Murder High is the one I have – this was very confusing when trying to find it on Goodreads.
This is on the slightly shorter side at 329 pages and will hopefully be a quick read for me. I doubt I’ll be staying up late to finish books when I’ll have to wake up at 2am to take a puppy out to do its business and then up at 6am to start my day. I don’t have any more flyball competitions this year though so my weekends have become free again (kinda).

Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins: Mollymauk Tealeaf by Jody Houser & Hunter Severn Bonyun
Guys, I miss Molly and so to fill that void I will be reading his origins graphic novel next month. I’m still trying to space these out as much as possible as I don’t want to get through them too quickly. Am I being ridiculous? Probably, but graphic novels are so expensive.
I also want extravagant Molly back in my life. I understand why they’ve toned down his character design in the animation, which isn’t out yet but I’m so freaking excited for it.
This volume has the same illustrator as the Jester one, which is my favourite, so I’m so excited to see their art again. It’s so vibrant and full of life – perfect for my two favourite Tieflings (shoutout to Xandis though, I love them too).
