My plan for spring is to keep everything light. I want to read mostly feel-good, quick reads. Which probably means a lot of romances and YA books. I’ve been struggling to get through books lately so planning out a few easy reads is definitely the way to go.
Dear Calista by Danielle Keil

I really enjoy this series of standalones. They’re such fun, entertaining and easy reads. I love that there’s little to no drama in them. Even though the secret admirer is easy to guess in each book, it’s still really exciting when they receive the clues and try to deduce who it is.
Synopsis: Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.
The first day of August is Calista Forrester’s seventeenth birthday. Her teal envelope showed up among the gifts at a surprise party.
A party she didn’t want. Just like how she doesn’t want a Secret Admirer.
Panged with guilt, and stuck with a dead phone battery, she accepts the challenge by default.
Her clues come in the form of tickets to different places, each with a task to complete while she’s there. It’s an introvert’s worst nightmare, but at least she’s allowed to bring a friend along.
When school starts, Calista is shoved into the spotlight as the chosen girl. That’s when she decides enough is enough.
Will Calista’s decision impact more than just her?
And will her secret admirer let her give up that easily?
Unexpectedly Mine by Erin Hawkins

I’ve read two books in this series of standalones so far and they’ve both been really entertaining. I’d put off checking out the rest of the ‘Unexpectedly in Love’ series as I thought they were all really long. Turns out that was just the last one I read. So basically, I’m really looking forward to checking this one out. I actually love how tropey they are.
Synopsis: Emma
Since the man I thought I would be walking down the aisle with broke up with me, I’ve been focused on my business.
As the designer of Emma Belle Bridal Gowns, headlining the Blushing Bride Convention in Las Vegas has been the highlight of my year. And the legendary editor of The Dress magazine wants to feature me in their upcoming issue?
A dream come true.
And it’s my birthday! Nothing can get me down…except maybe my ex’s engagement splashed across social media.
What’s a girl to do other than drink a truck load of champagne and see a male revue show?
When a dancer pulls me up on stage, the chemistry between us is undeniable.
Forget holy matrimony, I’m going to lower my expectations for one night.
One night that just may last forever.
Griffin
One last night…
After twelve years raising my baby sister, Sophie, and dancing for Las Vegas’s top male revue in order to pay bills and ensure she graduates college, I’m ready to hang up my tearaway pants and start a new life.
My intentions were to protect Emma, a captivating and tipsy woman at the show, from doing something she regrets. With chemistry neither of us can deny, the night takes an unexpected turn and we find ourselves waking up married.
It happens. We’ll correct our mistakes and move on.
But with a viral wedding video, our nuptials end up on Page Six, and Emma needs me in New York to play the part of doting new husband for a career-boosting interview.
I’ll play the part, do what she asks, then we’ll part ways.
Emma’s smart, enchanting and beautiful…and completely unexpected.
But right now, I have nothing to offer a woman like her, let alone forever.
The Wrong Costar by Alexandra Moody

Oh look, another book in a series of standalones. I’m really loving romance standalones at the moment, which seems silly to say as most romances are standalones. I read book one in this ‘series’ earlier this year and I enjoyed it, so I’d like to check out this one while I have a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Synopsis: An actor who shares equal importance in a play with another. Unless you’re Liam Black.
Teagan has one goal: to get out of the small town she grew up in and never look back. Acting is her passion, and she’s counting on her skills on stage to grant her a one-way ticket out of there. When she learns a talent scout will be attending their high school drama production, she knows she’s finally got a chance at making her dreams come true.
What she wasn’t counting on was Hollywood heartthrob and notorious bad-boy Liam Black gate crashing the show. Forced to join Teagan’s school to prepare for his next movie, everyone seems to be buzzing about his arrival — but for Teagan it spells disaster.
Liam’s got a bad reputation. He doesn’t take their play seriously. And, worst of all, he and Teagan can’t stand each other. Can they conjure up some chemistry on stage, or will this Hollywood hottie be too much for Teagan to handle?
