I did a decent amount of binge watching during January but probably not anything I said I was going to watch. I’m great at planning things, just not actually sticking to the plan.
I attempted to catch up with Critical Role’s campaign three, but that didn’t go to plan. Funnily enough I didn’t have over 100 hours of free time to commit to watching YouTube. I did, however, get a lot closer to being completely caught up. I finished 9 episodes, which really isn’t bad going. At the time of posting this, the very last episode of campaign three has been posted so no spoilers if you’ve finished it already. I’ve just finished episode 105 so I still have 16 episodes left.
I really don’t want this campaign to end. I love these characters so much, especially Fearne. She might be one of my all time favourites of the Critical Role world. At the start of the campaign I probably would have said Laudna was my favourite as I love anything with spooky vibes, but she’s betrayed the group too many times, even if it wasn’t technically her fault. She’s also taken big moments away from other characters too often for me to love her anymore. I’m still not over her completely overshadowing a huge part of FCG’s story.
Anyway, let’s see if I can finish the entire campaign before the end of February. I’m not sure if it’s actually possible as I haven’t added up the hours–for fear of overwhelming myself–but if I can get through one episode a day from now on, I should be able to get through the entire thing. Well, other than the finale. I won’t be able to watch that in just one day as I’m pretty sure it’s over 8 hours long.
I also got through another season of The Vampire Diaries. I’m now on season three and it’s peak The Originals time. I remember having a huge crush on Kol as a teen, I don’t know if I still feel that way as I haven’t reached his first episode yet, but I’m excited to watch the chaotic drama they bring again. There are certain episodes that I remember so vividly and others it’s like I’m watching them for the first time again.
Another re-watch I started (but didn’t finish) during January was Tiny Pretty Things. After listening to the entire audiobook in one day, I decided to rewatch the show as I was sure they were completely different. Which I was right about. The plot of the TV show is nothing like the book. I think I prefer the mystery of the show but the characters were better in the book. Why did they change all of the character names other than Bette and June?
This is a pretty short post, which I was half expecting for January. I spent more time reading than doing anything else, which is evident as I haven’t even posted reviews for half of the books I read in January yet.
