What I Watched: June 2025

We Were Liars

What. An. Adaptation. They seriously did such a good job with this show. I loved every single minute of it. Especially as it’s been a while since I read the book so I didn’t actually remember everything that happened.

The acting was genuinely really good. I do feel a little weary towards teen shows as the acting can be a bit iffy sometimes, but this cast was incredible. I have such high hopes for Joseph Zada as Haymitch.

This is still very new so I don’t want to spoil anything about what happens but I highly recommend checking this out.

Synopsis: One year after a mysterious accident left her with amnesia, 17-year-old Cadence returns to Beechwood, an island off Martha’s Vineyard, seeking answers. As three generations of the distinguished Sinclair family gather at their private summer utopia, no one will talk about the accident – neither her childhood friends “The Liars” nor her first love Gat, forcing her to uncover the truth herself.

Ginny and Georgia – season 3

Another show that blew me away last month. I really enjoyed the previous two seasons, despite their cringeworthy moments, but this season was incredible. Don’t get me wrong, Ginny is still ridiculously irritating sometimes but the storylines were so good. Even though she’s committed multiple murders, Georgia can do no wrong in my eyes. She’s such a complex character, I love her.

I watched the entire season across two nights and I was obsessed. It’s such a great feeling when you really love a show and just want to watch it constantly.

Also, I would 100% leave my window open incase Felix Mallard wants to climb through it.

Synopsis: Angsty, awkward 15-year-old Ginny Miller often feels more mature than her 30-year-old mother, the irresistible, dynamic Georgia Miller. After years on the run, Georgia desperately wants to put down roots in picturesque New England and give her family something they’ve never had: a normal life. But it’s not all carpool and Kombucha; Georgia’s past threatens her family’s new lifestyle, and she will do anything to protect her family.

Friends – season 1

The only reason why I’ve found myself watching Friends for the millionth time is because my mom came to stay with me and it was the easiest option of something to watch together. I’ve been watching Friends since I was very young, way too young to be watching it or understanding anything that was going on, so it’s extremely nostalgic for me.

This show definitely shows its age with some of its jokes and lack of diversity but it really is a classic. It’s my current ‘have it on in the background’ show.

Synopsis: Ross Geller, Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Phoebe Buffay are six twenty-somethings living in New York City. Over the course of 10 years and seasons, these friends go through life lessons, family, love, drama, friendship, and comedy.

Weird Kids

This podcast is so wonderful. Firstly, I didn’t know I adored the friendship between Ashley and Talisein so much until this started and secondly, I love hearing about how other people were weird as kids as I was also a weird kid. For instance: I used to write stories on a typewriter. Which doesn’t sound entirely weird but then you realise I’m only 26 so could have easily used a computer to do this, but no, as a child I wanted to use a typewriter. Yeah, you can see why this podcast is perfect for me.

Synopsis: Synopsis: What happens when two former child actors, who grew up on Hollywood sets surrounded by adults, look back and realize just how bizarre their upbringing really was? They start a podcast of course!

In this retro styled podcast, Ashley Johnson and Taliesin Jaffe deep dive into their lives as the “Weird Kids”, unraveling their eccentric childhoods, swapping behind-the-scenes stories, and embracing their delightfully unique interests that set them apart.

From antique toys and taxidermy to Japanese pop culture and the quirks of LA life, no topic is too obscure!

Weird Kids is for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t quite fit in and is a place to cherish all the eclectic things that make this world more fun. So to all the misfits, outcasts, and weirdos out there, come take a seat at our table and celebrate all things unconventional, nostalgic, and wonderfully weird.
