Review:
My very first thought when Girls Just Wanna Have Sun started was “finally a queer romance”. Every single one of these Amazon original novellas so far have been cishet, so this was a really nice change. Sadly, I didn’t think it was very good (much like every novella in this series).
This gets one star for the bisexual awakening and half a star for a cute dog. But that’s about it for good points to mention. There’s no way this romance gets any further than this summer trip. Morgan seemed a little too interested and Juliette too disinterested. The fact that Morgan tells Juliette she was her bisexual awakening felt like a way of her saying “we have to be together because you’ve become a significant part of who I am”. I didn’t like that very much.
Other than this happening the rest of the book is very forgettable. I didn’t even realise until most of the way in that they’re on the same summer vacation with friends. At least I think that’s what happened, it’s been a few days and I don’t remember.
I wouldn’t normally write a review so short but I genuinely can’t recall anything that happened in this book. I don’t even remember what breed the dog was so that really shows you how uninterested I was in what was going on. Also, unnecessarily putting a dog in danger is one of my least favourite things an author can do – I’m minusing the previously given half star for that.
