Book Haul: November 2025

Nobody in Particular by Sophie Gonzales

This book was sold as a genderbent Young Royals and that alone is enough to make me buy it. Also, I’ve read one of Sophie Gonzales’s books before and I really enjoyed it.

I love a good forbidden relationship and it’s nice to see one that’s sapphic, I’m here for it! Also, this book kept popping up and I couldn’t decide if I wanted it or not as my to be read is a mile long, but I couldn’t resist. I mean, have you seen the cover? It’s lovely.

Synopsis: Princess Rosemary of Henland can’t afford distractions. She’s working tirelessly to repair her image following a scandal that lost the trust of both her country and her best friend. Unfortunately, when a beautiful and funny new student joins her boarding school, Rose finds herself quite distracted indeed.

Attending Bramppath College on a music scholarship, talented pianist Danni expects to be an outcast amongst the wealthy children of the elite, but she is pleasantly surprised to be taken in by the ex-best friend of the princess. The more Danni gets to know her new classmates, the more intrigued she becomes by Rose.

When somebody sees something they shouldn’t and rumors circulate throughout Henland, Rose and Danni must either find a way to deflect the ever-increasing eyes on their relationship, or end it altogether. Because one thing is clear: if Rose’s fragile reputation takes any more hits, the palace will do whatever they must to separate Rose and Danni. Forever.

Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Volume IV by Jody Houser & Noah Hayes

I didn’t even realise this was out yet as I feel like Critical Role hasn’t mentioned it anywhere. I won’t lie, I got very excited when I saw this sitting in the Critical Role section of my local comic book shop. I’m literally known there for being a Critical Role fan.

I also finally got the Yasha origin graphic novel as they got a new edition that wasn’t damaged. I’ve been waiting for literal months for it. I’m now only missing What Doesn’t Break in a physical copy and then my physical collection is complete. Well until The Mighty Nein: Stories Untold releases next year.

Synopsis: Vox Machina returns to investigate a strange disappearance!

Hello! Is anybody home?

After the disappearance of Sir Fince, Vox Machina is tasked with investigating his whereabouts. After some poking and prodding, the team is led to a mysterious basement where dark forces loom. Meanwhile, Vax and Pike face off against a vicious chimera which puts both of their fighting skills to the test, and the rest of the crew navigate an underground cavern in hopes of reuniting with the two. It’ll take the help of an unexpected ally to guide the members of Vox Machina to their next objective…the Clasp’s headquarters.

The campaign continues with series IV of Critical Vox Machina Origins, from the New York Times bestselling team of Jody Houser (Orphan Black, Stranger Things), Noah Hayes (The Avant-Guards), Diana Sousa (Critical The Mighty Nein Origins, Mall Goth), and Ariana Maher (James Bond, Xena)!

Collects Critical Vox Machina Origins IV #1–#6.

The Deal by Elle Kennedy

I won’t lie, I’ve only decided to check out this series because of the show that’s coming soon. I have also developed a love for hockey romances, which is still a weird thing to say. I now have the first two books in this series and I’m seriously contemplating picking this up soon. Well maybe during my holiday break, which isn’t too far away.

Synopsis: She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy… Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date. …and it’s going to be oh so good!

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Spellfire by Agatha Willow

Witchy romance = I’m gonna buy it. Has this come back to bite me multiple times? Yes. Will I continue to buy all witchy romances I see? Also yes. I can’t help myself. I’ve always been into witchy stuff and I love that there are adult books about witches. Hopefully this is one of the good ones. If not, I’ve been tricked by a gorgeous cover yet again.

Synopsis: Luna graduated from Grimoire Academy and never looked back — until she gets a call about her beloved former Professor Herringbone, who left Luna her prized spellbook collection. Luna is forced to return to the place she thought she’d left behind for good.

Amelia is the last witch Luna wants to see. Once her high school crush, Amelia is now headmistress, and she’s in desperate need of Luna’s spellbook expertise. With the Academy’s future at stake, and despite her reservations, Luna reluctantly agrees to become a teacher.

But returning to Grimoire means facing Amelia, and the unresolved feelings that linger between them. As they work together, Luna discovers that the true magic might be in the undeniable connection they share…
