When this album first came out I thought I’d hate Olivia Rodrigo as I’m not really a fan of pop, but oh boy was I wrong. I love this album, like a lot. Although I will say that Guts is 100x better and almost makes this one unlistenable. Well not really as that’s very dramatic, but Guts is much more mature–if that makes sense?
Sour is yet another no skips album for me, I can happily listen to it from start to finish. I like all of the songs but I will skip certain ones if they come on in any of my playlists. Not all the time, it just depends on what type of mood I’m in.
I will always be impressed by Olivia’s songwriting skills. She’s so good at telling a story with her lyrics and she’s very witty and charming. I shouldn’t love her music so much as a 25 year old in a happy relationship, but I do.
Ranking every song on Sour:
- drivers license
- traitor
- jealousy, jealousy
- favorite crime
- hope ur ok
- 1 step forward, 3 steps back
- deja vu
- enough for you
- brutal
- happier
- good 4 u
My favourite song on this album changes all the time, it depends on the mood I’m in. I know saying drivers license is my favourite is super basic, but it is. Good 4 u will always be my least favourite, it’s still a fun song, but it is the worst one–in my opinion. Hope ur ok has recently climbed the ranks as I’ve been listening to it more lately. I like to listen to albums chronologically so I often run out of time before getting to the last songs. It’s such a beautiful song.
Sour is one of my most listened to albums of all time, but Guts has recently surpassed it. I will do a post on Guts at some point in the future, I’m not sure when though.
