I’ve been listening to music a lot in September but it’s been the same two albums on repeat the whole month. It’s actually quite funny which two they are, if you’re on the internet enough you’ll understand this. They’re both great albums though and both artists are great songwriters.
Songs I’ve enjoyed in September
I’m not sure if this is my favourite song from Emails I Can’t Send, but it’s definitely up there. The first time I listened to this album, I did it in order and this song and Vicious were the first ones that made me think I’m going to love this album.
I don’t know why I put off checking it out for so long, but I’m sad that I did. It’s so good.
Again, I don’t think this is my favourite song from GUTS, I haven’t listened to it enough to choose a favourite yet, but it’s so fun. I love how Olivia has managed to capture the pure essence of 2000s pop. I could 100% imagine this song in a 2000s teen comedy, the whole album has that feel.
This isn’t my favourite song from this album, but it’s such an earworm. I’ve been singing this constantly for the last few weeks and god does Sabrina know how to write a pop song.
Beautifully heartbreaking. God I love Olivia so much.
Audiobooks I listened to in September
The first audiobook I listened to in September was Sunset Springs by Kacen Callender and oh boy did I not like it. I was promised a cute romance with a diverse cast and while the cast was somewhat diverse, the romance was not cute. I was not invested in the slightest and I really disliked the judgemental main character.
I haven’t tracked this anywhere yet but I listened to a festive audiobook, Let it Snow by Michelle Stimpson and I also did not enjoy it. Not a great month for audiobooks apparently. I’m going to do a full review of it later in the year, so you have a scathing review to look forward to.
The reason why I’m already listening to festive audiobooks is because I’m planning to do a best festive audiobook post in December and it turns out I haven’t really listened to any.
