The 12 Books of Christmas: Three Holidays and a Wedding by Uzma Jalaluddin and Marissa Stapley

*I was given a copy of Three Holidays and a Wedding in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Atlantic Books, Uzma Jalaluddin and Marissa Stapley*

Synopsis:

One snowstorm.

Two strangers.

Three times the holiday magic . . .

When strangers Maryam Aziz and Anna Gibson are seated next to each other on a flight – Maryam travelling to her sister’s impromptu wedding, and Anna to meet her wealthy boyfriend’s parents over the holidays – neither expect that severe turbulence will scare them into confessing their deepest hopes and fears to one another. Unfortunately, Maryam’s lifelong crush Saif happened to be sitting two rows behind them and heard it all, including the part where she professed undying love for him.

An emergency landing finds Anna, Maryam and Saif snowbound at a quirky hotel in the picture-perfect town of Snow Falls – where fate has Anna’s actor-crush filming a holiday romance. As Maryam finds the courage to open her heart to Saif, and Anna feels the magic of an unexpected new love, they might just realise there’s nowhere they’d rather be for the holidays.

Review:

Three Holidays and a Wedding was incredibly cosy and I had a great time reading it. The festive vibes were there and the fact that three separate holidays were celebrated made it really special.

I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve ever said this about a festive romance before, but I feel like I actually learnt something from this book. I didnโ€™t have a huge knowledge of Ramadam before reading this and I now feel like I know so much about it. These were my favourite parts of this book.

Both Maryam and Anna were great main characters. They were so different yet worked together so well, opposites really do attract. When they first meet you really think โ€œthese two will never be friendsโ€ and then before you know it Anna is part of the Aziz family. It was incredibly heartwarming to see their friendship grow, especially because Anna doesnโ€™t have any family to celebrate with.

Three Holidays and a Wedding was the first festive romance to make me feel Christmassy, which is funny considering Christmas wasnโ€™t really the main focus. Thereโ€™s something about small towns covered in snow that makes me feel so cosy. This is funny considering I live in the South of the UK and I never really get snow, I actually hate snow.

The romance was very sweet and Iโ€™m always a fan of childhood friends to lovers stories. The progression of both relationships, despite one of them happening in the space of days, feels very natural. Itโ€™s a romance book, itโ€™s meant to be a little outrageous.

Honestly, this was such a sweet and heartwarming read and I definitely recommend it. Itโ€™s a little slow to start, but once the story really gets going you wonโ€™t want to put it down.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
