The Best Of: Festive Romance Covers #3

There were so many great covers last year that I’ve again struggled to choose just a few. So, what I’ve done is used the ones that I haven’t talked about in my ‘The Best Of: 2022 Festive Reads’ post.

Santa Maybe by Mary Jayne Baker

This is definitely my favourite cover from last year and I don’t really know why. The character designs are super cute and I really like this particular shade of red, which is very usual for me. Red is actually one of my least favourite colours.

Using two different fonts and actually making it look good is quite difficult, but the artist (sorry I don’t know who it is) did an amazing job.

Synopsis: Toy Store owner Elodie Martin is not one to get into the festive spirit but nothing gets her fired up more than the chance to get one over on her nemesis, Callum Ashley – the frosty, infuriatingly handsome owner of the local department store. Christmas is the only time she can compete thanks to her grandad Jim, everyone’s favourite Santa Claus. But when he has to unexpectedly hang up his red suit, Elodie is at risk of losing the business for good and has no choice but to rely on last-minute replacement out-of-work actor Nick Winter.

Can a sprinkling of Christmas magic warm Callum’s heart and help Elodie find her happily-ever-after? Or is it just possible that love is to be found a little bit closer to home? Readers love Santa Maybe

The Christmas Cupid by Jennifer Joyce

I enjoy the simplicity of this cover. It’s pretty obvious by now from every single cover post I’ve done that I love hand-drawn style covers and romance books have some of the best. You’d expect a Christmas book to have either a red or green cover, but I think if this wasn’t blue it wouldn’t look as great.

Synopsis: Zoey Beake is having a bad December. She’s just been dumped, she’s had an extremely dodgy haircut that even the biggest woolly hat can’t hide, and then a tragic accident – involving an elf outfit, stilts, and a red double-decker bus labelled ‘The Santa Express’ – leaves her dead.

But then Zoey is given a second chance at life. Sent back to the start of December, if she can match six couples by Christmas Eve her life will be saved. Which gives her the perfect opportunity to win her boyfriend back too…

Can Zoey find love in time for Christmas?

Let it Snow by Beth Moran

I love that this cover looks like a snow globe. I’m not sure if that was intentional, but it looks amazing. I also love the metallic gold title. Even though this cover isn’t red, which you’d usually associate with Christmas, it’s so festive.

Synopsis: After the end of a long-term relationship, local weather girl Bea Armstrong has been avoiding her family, and their inevitable ‘I-told-you-sos.’ But with Christmas fast approaching, she is finally on her way home to Charis House, the school in Sherwood Forest that her mum and dad run in their old family home. And to top it all off, the insufferable Henry Fairfax – who her parents have always wanted her to marry – has also been invited.

Relief comes in the shape of a last-minute interview for her dream job. There are just a few minor problems… The interview is in Scotland, Bea has no car, and the snow is falling already. The only solution is for Henry to drive her – could this Christmas get any worse…

But during an unforgettable two-day interview, a stay in a log cabin and a nightmare journey through the snow, Henry turns out to be nothing like she thought. And when Bea’s first love and recent ex shows up, Bea has a difficult choice to make…
