I can’t quite believe I’ve been doing this series for so long. It’s easy to believe there are so many covers I love because apparently I’m very shallow, but the cover is always your first impression of a book, so it’s important for it to be good, right? Please say you agree with me so I don’t look bad.
This Lie Will Kill You by Chelsea Pitcher

This cover is quite minimalist for me. I am a fan of simple covers, but usually, ones that are filled with tiny details or very floral covers are my favourite. However, as this is a thriller, I think this cover works so well. It conveys the feeling of the book very well (I assume because I haven’t read it yet).
Synopsis: Tell the truth. Or face the consequences.
Clue meets Riverdale in this page-turning thriller that exposes the lies five teens tell about a deadly night one year ago.
One year ago, there was a party.
At the party, someone died.
Five teens each played a part and up until now, no one has told the truth.
But tonight, the five survivors arrive at an isolated mansion in the hills, expecting to compete in a contest with a $50,000 grand prize. Of course…some things are too good to be true.
Now, they realize they’ve been lured together by a person bent on revenge, a person who will stop at nothing to uncover what actually happened on that deadly night, one year ago.
Five arrived, but not all can leave. Will the truth set them free?
Or will their lies destroy them all?
Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson

I sound like a broken record but it’s simple; I see a Charlie Bowater cover, and I instantly love that cover. She’s my favourite cover artist and I absolutely adore all of her work. It’s a style that’s instantly recognisable and I love that Margaret Rogerson uses her for most of her covers.
Synopsis: The dead of Loraille do not rest.
Artemisia is training to be a Gray Sister, a nun who cleanses the bodies of the deceased so that their souls can pass on; otherwise, they will rise as spirits with a ravenous hunger for the living. She would rather deal with the dead than the living, who trade whispers about her scarred hands and troubled past.
When her convent is attacked by possessed soldiers, Artemisia defends it by awakening an ancient spirit bound to a saint’s relic. It is a revenant, a malevolent being that threatens to possess her the moment she drops her guard. Wielding its extraordinary power almost consumes her—but death has come to Loraille, and only a vespertine, a priestess trained to wield a high relic, has any chance of stopping it. With all knowledge of vespertines lost to time, Artemisia turns to the last remaining expert for help: the revenant itself.
As she unravels a sinister mystery of saints, secrets, and dark magic, her bond with the revenant grows. And when a hidden evil begins to surface, she discovers that facing this enemy might require her to betray everything she has been taught to believe—if the revenant doesn’t betray her first.
