The Best Of: Beautiful Book Covers #27

I have a feeling that the covers mentioned in today’s post may be a little unconventional as most of the books I’ve talked about so far have been YA or fantasy.

Double Booked by Lily Lindon

I know not everyone loves covers like this, but I do. Especially when it’s a contemporary romance. I’d much rather have cartoon looking people on the front than a shirtless man.

I also think these types of covers are just super easy to look at. There’s not a lot going on, the title is really easy to read and I like seeing what the characters look like. Even if they don’t have distinguishable features.

Synopsis: Georgina Green thinks she has it all steady boyfriend, steady job, steady calendar. Then she meets Kit Mysterious and sexy, Kit is the drummer in a queer pop band who – astonishingly – invite Georgina to be their new pianist.Georgina can’t waste this chance, but she doesn’t want to lose her lovely safe life.

So she splits herself in by day, she’ll be the same old Gina, and by night, she’ll find new freedom as George. But double lives are complicated. When things spiral out of control, will Georgina choose a side, or find a way to belong to both?

Your Place or Mine? by Portia MacIntosh

This is the only book mentioned today that I’ve actually read and it’s really fun. Just like its cover. I adore this pink (pink is my favourite colour), it’s so eye-catching and the whole cover really pops.

Again, we have little cartoon style characters and we all know I love those. These types of covers work so well for romance books, in my opinion.

Synopsis: When Serena is kicked out of her flat, an offer from her friend, Taylor, to house sit for her while she and her husband go travelling could not be better timing. But unfortunately for Serena she’s not the only one to have received this offer…

Enter arrogant, messy (and annoyingly handsome) musician, and friend of Taylor’s husband. Living with him is far from ideal, especially when he claims the best room, has loud parties – and the least said about his kitchen manner the better…

There’s just one solution for Serena – drive him out of the house by being twice as difficult to live with than he is! But Ziggy knows Serena’s game and as war ensues between them, being forced together under one roof may result in some unexpected consequences…
