New Girl
Synopsis: “After a bad break-up, Jess, an offbeat young woman, moves into an apartment loft with three single men. Although they find her behaviour very unusual, the men support her – most of the time.”
There’s really nothing more binge-able than a 25-minute sitcom, they are the type of show where you keep saying ‘just one more episode’ and before you know it, you’ve finished the season. I would say this has happened to me before with New Girl but the last time I watched this show was when I was reviewing it so I didn’t get through the episodes very quickly. I have binge-watched most of the seasons a couple of times before though.
New Girl is probably my favourite sitcom of all time and I will never get bored of it. The cast is perfect and I love their characters with all of my heart. Schmidt alone makes this one of the best sitcoms ever. He’s one of the funniest characters to exist and no one could have played him as well as Max Greenfield.
There are so many quotable lines in New Girl and I won’t lie, I probably say at least one of them every day.
I had so so much fun reviewing and analysing the episodes as usually I just watch them and don’t think too deeply about what’s going on. However, by reviewing it, I found out so much about the storylines and episodes that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I’d started reviewing the second season before I decided to stop those posts but my heart just wasn’t in it anymore.
I had also started listening to the podcast last year and it’s so fun listening to the cast reminisce about how they filmed the episodes and what scenes were improvised. It’s a really good listen if you love the show and want to know more about it. However, as I stopped reviewing the show, I stopped listening.
The only season I haven’t seen more than once is the last one so I can’t remember much about it or if it was any good. I’m quite excited to get to it at some point though, however I’ve paused my rewatch at the moment as I’ve started watching other shows. Classic ADHD. I’m either non-stop bingeing a show or forgetting about it completely.
If you haven’t watched New Girl yet and are looking for a fun series with short episodes I really can’t recommend it enough. Top tier comedy with a really great cast.
