It feels like forever since I’ve written one of these posts, when in reality I posted one last month. Writing posts at the moment has been a little strange for me. I’ve been trying my best to keep as far in advance as possible but this means I’m forgetting what I’ve already posted or what’s scheduled. Anyway, onto the cool graphic novel covers.
Brooms by Jasmine Walls & Teo Duvall

I really like the character design on this cover. It feels fairly simple, but they have a lot of personality (I wanted to say character, but that sounded silly). This is a great case of the cover actually showing what the graphic novel is like inside. The art style is the same and the level of detail is consistent throughout.
Synopsis: It’s 1930s Mississippi. Magic is permitted only in certain circumstances, and by certain people. Unsanctioned broom racing is banned. But for those who need the money, or the thrills…it’s there to be found.
Meet Billie Mae, captain of the Night Storms racing team, and Loretta, her best friend and second-in-command. They’re determined to make enough money to move out west to a state that allows Black folks to legally use magic and take part in national races.
Cheng-Kwan – doing her best to handle the delicate and dangerous double act of being the perfect “son” to her parents, and being true to herself while racing.
Mattie and Emma — Choctaw and Black — the youngest of the group and trying to dodge government officials who want to send them and their newly-surfaced powers away to boarding school.
And Luella, in love with Billie Mae. Her powers were sealed away years ago after she fought back against the government. She’ll do anything to prevent the same fate for her cousins.
Lore Olympus: Volume Two by Rachel Smythe

We all know by now just how much I love this series and you can definitely expect to see the other covers popping up in future posts. I think volume two is my favourite cover, not really sure why. I just think Rachel Smythe is very good at drawing emotion and it’s on full display with this cover. Also, the colours are stunning.
Synopsis: Persephone was ready to start a new life when she left the mortal realm for Olympus. However, she quickly discovered the dark side of her glamorous new home—from the relatively minor gossip threatening her reputation to a realm-shattering violation of her safety by the conceited Apollo—and she’s struggling to find her footing in the fast-moving realm of the gods. Hades is also off-balance, fighting against his burgeoning feelings for the young goddess of spring while maintaining his lonely rule of the Underworld. As the pair are drawn ever closer, they must untangle the twisted webs of their past and present to build toward a new future.
