Campaign Two: The Mighty Nein

The announcement of campaign four has pulled me straight back into my obsession with Critical Role. I’m personally quite excited for the changes as I’m intrigued how a game with 13 player characters works. I’ve only ever played with 6 other people.

At the time of writing this post I’m on episode 37 so I’m curious to see how many I can get though before the new campaign begins. I will still be finishing my second time with The Mighty Nein while campaign four is running but I’d like to get a good chunk of it finished before then.

My love for Jester and Fjord grows with every single episode. I can’t wait to get into some of the most chaotic moments of this campaign. Obviously their romance is one of my favourite parts too. I love how Laura tries to embarrass Travis by flirting with him (for those who don’t know, they’re married).

I did watch a few episodes during August, but not enough that I want to talk about it in both TV related posts I do every month. My plan is to get to the episodes with the animated opening, which I’m not too far off right now.

Synopsis: Set in the magical world of Exandria, on the continent of Wildemount, Critical Role’s Mighty Nein campaign is the story of a group of motley and chaotic adventurers who find themselves caught in the middle of a war between two nations.

My Life with the Walter Boys – season two

I should have been honest with myself last month and admitted that I wouldn’t watch this straight away. The second season isn’t even out yet and I already know I’ll be putting it off for at least a few weeks.

I’m still working my way through season one again but I’m struggling to commit to shows at the moment so who knows when I’ll even finish that? It was my ‘have it on in the background’ show while I worked on blog posts but I have to be in a certain mood to watch this type of show.

What I will say is. I have no preference for who Jackie will pick. For myself, I’d choose Alex because firstly, I think Ashby is gorgeous, but also because he’s the brother I’d have the most in common with. Cole is a known cheater, which really isn’t my cup of tea.

Synopsis: After losing her family in a tragic accident, fifteen-year-old Manhattanite Jackie Howard leaves behind her privileged and proper life in New York and moves to rural Colorado to be with her guardian – her mother’s best friend, Katherine, who is raising ten kids with her husband, George. While settling into her new, chaotic countryside home, Jackie is determined to stay focused on her dream of getting into Princeton…all while wrapping her head around her feelings for two very different Walter brothers: the reliable and bookish Alex, and the mysterious and troubled Cole. As Jackie tries to navigate her new life, the feelings and tensions she tries to deny threaten to throw everything off course. Will she be able to stay true to herself and still find romance?

Wednesday – season two

I also didn’t start watching this in August either. I’m sick of seasons being split into two, it’s really annoying. So I’m waiting for the second half to be released and then I’ll probably binge the show across a weekend or something. My boyfriend isn’t interested in watching the second season so I’ll definitely get through it much quicker than I did the first.

I love the aesthetic of this show, because of course I do, I’ve loved spooky things since I was a kid. So it’s going to be the perfect thing to watch as we move into autumn and get closer to Halloween.

Synopsis: A sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

I’m going to leave this post here as I don’t want to promise that I’ll watch too many things and then inevitably don’t get round to them. It’s highly likely that The Mighty Nein (campaign, not show) will completely take over my life, so don’t expect too much in my September wrap up.
