I spent so much time last month trying to find new bands and artists as I won’t lie, I’m pretty bored of the stuff I usually listen to right now. I mentioned my ‘to listen to’ playlist in last month’s post and I’ve made my way through a good amount of it – some things I really liked, others not so much.
Songs I enjoyed in June
This only came out yesterday and I’m already obsessed with it. I was up at 3 am to get a flight and I listened to it multiple times on my way home.
Vampire is a very promising lead single and I’m loving the slight change in style. Olivia is a very talented songwriter and her vocals sound so good.
Slightly random addition for this month, but this is one of my boyfriend’s favourite You Me At Six songs and I’ve been listening to it a lot lately. This album isn’t my favourite (Sinners Never Sleep is the best) but it is growing on me with each listen.
My favourite Marmozets song changes all the time and this is the one I’m enjoying the most at the moment. Don’t know why, it’s just really fun.
This is my favourite find of the last few months and I don’t know why I didn’t mention it last month. I’ve really been getting into pop more lately or whatever this genre is (I don’t know, but I love it) and I’m having fun with it.
Podcasts I listened to
Both podcasts I’m going to mention were actually video ones so I didn’t technically ‘listen’ to them, but I’m including them anyway.
Firstly, there’s Brain Leak. I don’t know why I haven’t mentioned it yet because I’m literally obsessed. For those who don’t know, it’s by YouTubers Jacksepticeye and Ethan Nestor (previously Crankgameplays) and it’s perfect for people with ADHD, like me. They are so high energy and constantly bounce from one topic to another, it’s very pleasing for my brain.
I excitedly await the new episode each week and I haven’t kept up with a podcast like this in a very long time. I’m actually an episode behind right now as I’ve been in Scotland for work all week, but you better believe I’ll be watching it in the next few days.
The other podcast I’ve been watching is the Worst Premade Ever Podcast. I love their YouTube channel and it’s really nice to see them sit down and just have a conversation. There’s a particular episode where they discuss eating road kill and it’s absolutely hilarious.
