Talking about upcoming book releases is something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I’m not the type of book reviewer that really pays attention to new releases, which is very obvious if you look at the books I’ve been reviewing for the past five years. However, it is something I’d like to look into more, especially as this blog grows – it’s a great way to showcase authors and books that may not be on your radar and I also get to find out what’s coming soon, which is always exciting.
My plan is to make this a monthly post, however, some months may not have books I’m interested in so we shall see.
Embrace by Bal Khabra – 4th August
I’ve only read one book by Bal Khabra so far but I loved it so much I’ve bought every single one since. Embrace publishing soon has made me realise I need to pick up another one of their books.
I think Kian is a character we’ve met previously but I read Revolve quite a while ago now and have read quite literally hundreds of books since, so I don’t remember. Anyway, I love the concept of this one; a forbidden relationship between a hockey player and the coach’s daughter – yes please!
My love for hockey romance won’t be going anywhere any time soon and I think my excitement for this book shows that. I can’t tell you exactly what it is I love about them as I have no interest in real life hockey other than playing field hockey competitively at school for a little while. Ice hockey is way cooler but not an option at British school (that I know of).

Bridget and Gabe Are Not Okay by Lex Croucher – 13th August
I had no idea this book was a thing until very recently and when I tell you I gasped in excitement, I’m being completely honest. The previous book in this series was one that had been on my to be read for so long it became my most anticipated read so to find out it’s getting a sequel is way too exciting.
A part of me did feel left wanting after the end of Gwen and Art Are Not in Love, which now makes sense as I’m assuming it was always meant to have a sequel. I adored Gabe and Art’s relationship in the first book so I can’t wait to see more of them.

The Harrow Home for Wayward Girls by Jessica Spotswood – 25th August
This is a completely new author to me but the synopsis of this book sounds so interesting. I love a gothic thriller and one set at a haunted house is the icing on the cake. Gothic manor houses are some of my favourite book settings of all time (think Belladonna by Adalyn Grace or All the Dead Lie Down by Kyrie McCauley).
I’m also always so excited to check out authors that are new to me – Jessica Spotswood has been publishing books since 2012 according to her Goodreads. All of her books have pretty high average ratings so this is definitely a book worth checking out.
