I haven’t been getting through series as quickly as I used to recently, probably because I’ve been in a slump with fantasy and you don’t find contemporary series as often, well I don’t. If you have any contemporary/romance series recommendations, please let me know!
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman

This is the type of series where you question why you didnโt pick it up sooner. Heartstopper is possibly one of the most binge-worthy YA series of all time as you can literally read them all in one day.
My obsession with Heartstopper is not going away any time sooner, or ever for that matter. Iโve already read this entire series multiple times and I really canโt get enough. Seriously if you havenโt read these by now, where the hell have you been? Do yourself a favour and grab the entire series next time you go book shopping, you wonโt regret it I promise.
Volume one synopsis: Charlie, a highly-strung, openly gay over-thinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, meet at a British all-boys grammar school. Friendship blooms quickly, but could there be something more…?
Charlie Spring is in Year 10 at Truham Grammar School for Boys. The past year hasn’t been too great, but at least he’s not being bullied anymore. Nick Nelson is in Year 11 and on the school rugby team. He’s heard a little about Charlie – the kid who was outed last year and bullied for a few months – but he’s never had the opportunity to talk to him.
They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and sometimes good things are waiting just around the corner…
The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare

One of the reasons why I love this series so much is not only because it has a lot of action and is exciting all the way through, but also because it focuses on issues found in the real world. The main theme of the book is the family dynamic of the Blackthorns.
The biggest and probably only negative I have to say about this series is that I wish there were more books in it, three just wasnโt enough for me! Donโt get me wrong they were set at a great pace however I would love to have more adventures with the Blackthorns.
This series has the perfect balance of heart-pounding action, heartbreaking relationships and genuinely unique and authentic characters.
Synopsis: Itโs been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.
Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didnโt lead her in treacherous directionsโฆ
Making things even more complicated, Julianโs brother Markโwho was captured by the faeries five years agoโhas been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kindโand they need the Shadowhuntersโ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesnโt recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
